How do you handle spots like this? It seems to make sense to call with such a strong hand, what if utg+1 just keeps the pressure on, maybe they have a 10 maybe they are just using their position to bluff you.

Do you just keep calling and just hope be was bluffing? Do you just fold to prevent yourself from getting stacked by a 10? Fold and let him get you off the best hand potentially?

Villain is a relatively tight player, he may throw bluffs in occasionally, I feel this spot is one in which he may bluff if he doesn’t have a 10 and doesn’t think he has the best hand or just keep betting because he thinks he has the best hand even if he doesn’t.

Maybe check raise him to see if he’d really has a 10? Of course if he does he’s never folding and I’m lighting money on fire.

I'd probably call once. Him being a tight player I'd fold the turn not many semi bluffs on that board and he's betting into 5 other people.

There are some hands your beating that could be betting for value/protection on the flop like 7x, 88, 99 and JJ. That's mostly why I think you need to call the flop.

He’s not really betting into 5 people, he’s betting into 2 that haven’t checked yet.

I agree that calling the flop sounds reasonable, I’m just worried this person is going to continue with a 10 or without and there is no way to know if they have a 10.

Maybe float the flop and hope for a turn to improve my hand or hope that he gives up betting due to my call worried I have a 10.

I would fold. You may be ahead, but hard to play profitably.

If you have a T it's entirely reasonable to check so just the fact that they've checked doesn't narrow down ranges much if at all.

Bet flop. Much smaller than sizing V used.

As played, fold. But call against a more reasonable (much smaller) sizing.

Is a tight player really firing 85% (how deep is everybody?) with a T? They want someone to call, right? Or better yet, raise?

A 7, sure, that I believe.

Problem with just calling is that you might be faced with calling a x-shove if someone gets frisky. I'd call. But you're playing live; see if anyone looks like they were playing 'possum.

Can't really go wrong with calling once. Folding is strategically more risky, but not completely out of the question with a good read or tell.

You do not want to pour a bunch more money into the pot, particularly OOP with two streets of betting left. He's unlikely to tell you what he has even if you do.

lead small

In the end what I did do was decide that because I was out of position it would be too difficult to play this hand. I ended up folding.

After the hand the better claimed that he had a pocket pair and that he thought he might be ahead and thought someone with a 10 would let him know.

The issue is that I don’t even know if I can trust what he claimed. Maybe he’s just saying that so the next time he bets trips he is more likely to get called.
