Personally the "hate" is mostly a reaction to the over the top glazing he receives from people who dont seem to understand that the HCL lineups that Garrett played in were soft as f. And he did act like a massive douche over the whole Robbi debacle, regardless if she actually cheated or not.
He seems alright, definitely not worthy of hating, but hes not this God of cashgames that HCL made him seem to be. Seems to be a fair bit of fake niceness in his personality to cater to the fish. Not something bad in itself, its a lot better to act "fake nice" than to be a misreg douche all the time. But the mask slipped quite a bit with the hole Robbi situation and aftermath.

Garret is a great guy. He volunteered for big brothers big sisters and donated lots of his poker winnings and time. Calling him fake because he was not amicable after being cheated by a plastic influencer is laughable.

lol@ still thinking he was cheated. His initial reaction was perfectly understandable but it was a pure clown show after that.
The fake nice façade would start to vanish the rare times he lost on HCL.
As for cheating he even admitted to being cheated in a home game, catching them and making a deal to keep his mouth shut if he got his money back leaving other people to get slaughtered by the cheaters.
