2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Last one for the night. I think the Chase/Mcbride/Hill or Chase/MHJ/Hill start is going to be pretty popular.
Burrow, Love
Monty, Mason, Tuten, Allgeier, Hill, Lloyd
Chase, Hill, MHJ, Flowers, Golden, McMillan, Doubs
Jonnu, Muth, Higbee
It makes me sad to see MHJ pulling up to the 2/3 turn. I was already having trouble clicking him at 3/4.
McBride is mostly going before 24 on UD.
Yea it seems pricey but for MHJ, but going against the Bengals seems worth it at a small clip.
I think the MHJ ceiling is high enough that I’m just gonna draft him at like 6-8% no matter price
Obviously this will change as we get closer to the season, and I plan on revisiting every month or weekly once training camp and preseason starts.
For now, here are the top 16 teams to target based on their projected team totals during the playoffs.
Sorted by W17
Sorted by Average W15-W17
Mahomes, Herbert
Achane, Harvey, Pacheco, Bigsby, Giddens, Marks
Nabers, Rice, Sutton, Odunze, Tre, Palmer, Bryant
Loveland, Ferguson, Dissly
Forgot I had a meeting I had to speak during and got in a draft… think it went ok
Mahomes, Nix, Bryce - Nix was 20 picks after ADP otherwise prob would’ve skipped him
Saquon, Henderson, Charbs, Guerrendo, Hunt
Tee, Rice, Sutton, Flowers, Meyers, Doubs, Legette
Kelce, Otton, Juwan
Stacks on stacks on stacks. I meant to draft Iosivas over Nuk and Bigsby over Allgeier.
Jayden, Dak, AR
Bucky, Jacobs, BRob, Allgeier, Hill
CD, Zay, Deebo, Reed, Pittman, Tillman, Hopkins, Felton
Kraft, Ferguson
Mahomes, Purdy, Tua
CMC, Achane, Pacheco, Braelon, Hunter
Worthy, Evans, Godwin, Jennings, Mims, Iosivas, Tutu
Kincaid, Goedert, Kmet
Nix, Love
Bucky, Warren, Javonte, Dowdle, Lloyd, McLaughlin
Chase, Rice, Sutton, Flowers, Meyers, Golden, Doubs
Ferguson, Goedert, Chig
Nice little KC/DEN and GB/BAL stack there.
Schanuzer has been maxed.
Exposures for first 10 rounds. Wish I could have had some Hurts, Breece, and Fields.
Top 10 teams with 1 or more players drafted. Pretty happy with this spread.
Playoff stacks. The only thing I'd change is swapping the exposures for DAL/WAS with HOU/LAC in W17.
Exposures by Position
I’m having trouble getting back into dbl checking bye weeks haha. W8 is going to be brutal
Kyler, Geno, Rodgers
Saquon, Monty, Charbs, Benson, Hill
MHJ, DK, Flowers, Jeudy, Egbuka, Bech, QJ, Slayton
McBride, Gesicki
Probably should’ve gone Hunt over Noah Brown here. Also, considered only drafting slot WRs here haha
Daniels, Stroud
Mixon, Henderson, Charbs, Ekeler, Hill
CD, Ladd, JSN, Godwin, Higgins, Wandale, Keenan, Brown
Kelce, Njoku, Ertz

Has anyone seen this lmao
At this point, I’m convinced he doesn’t understand the rules.
And yeah, I’ve completely forgotten to check byes during my drafts post-schedule haha. Luckily, I haven’t put myself in a bad position yet. But it’s a big adjustment after firing almost 300 without the schedule.
But it wasn’t in pre draft, his ADP dropped fully due to Egbuka, which I understand to some extent, but Godwin was a beast before his injury
Last year there were several players I drafted a lot but my gut didn't feel great about it. I had the number one pick a lot and took CMC the majority of the time. Usually when I get CMC I feel great and know that as long as I don't screw up the rest of my draft I will be competitive. Last year I never felt good picking him. At the same time I couldn't get myself to not pick him. I always had visions of week one and CMC has 30 points by half and I kick myself for getting too cute. I also drafted a lot of Deebo but my gut felt uncomfortable about this. The same with Waddle. I had a fade on Adams, Olave, and Aiyuk in the early second so I had to pick somebody. The one guy I did love was Nico but for some reason I felt the need to diversify my portfolio at the expense of picking him. Harrison is another one I didn't feel great about picking but I had FOMO.
Do you guys have anybody this year who you are still taking a good amount of but don't feel great about? Saquon Barkley feels like the CMC this year too me. If I had the balls to do so I would 100% fade him. However, this year I have learned that fading superstars is not a good idea. I had 3% Barkley last year which was stupid. I'll probably end up with 6% this year even though I don't feel great about the pick.

There's the possibility Egbuka ends up being the best WR on the team this year. They still have McMillan as well who was solid. I'll still draft a decent amount of Godwin especially at his price.
On top of the injury recovery concern, there are other concerns he moves back outside. The primary reason he crushed last year before the injury was the way Coen used him in the slot. Add in Egbuka, and it starts to get murky, plus McMillan is not going to zero.
And then you have targets going to the backs and Otton too.
It was already crowded before the Egbuka pick.

Sticking to the top ~3 rounds, I feel similarly about:
RBs: Achane, JT, Jacobs, Kyren
WRs: Drake, Higgins
I think your head is in the right place re: not 100% fading Saquon. I'm not as high-volume as the rest of y'all (I think I did ~40 BB drafts last year) but will tentatively plan to have at least ~4% of all of the above players...hopefully when/if they fall a few spots below ADP depending on how particular draft rooms flow.
The only players I'm really uneasy about in the first 3 rounds are Henry and Adams.
Then Bowers and McBride, but that's mainly because I have a hard time wanting to spend that much draft capital on a TE.
My top 3 for each of the first 5 rounds (in no particular order). These are the guys that as of right now, I'd like to be somewhere between 12%-16%. (R1-R3) and 16%-20% (R4-R5)
Round 1:
Lamb
Puka (I've come around)
Gibbs
Round 2:
London
Achane
Nico (I have a feeling this may switch to Ladd and/or BTJ at points)
Round 3:
Chase
Reek
Terry
Round 4:
Devonta
Rice
Breece
Round 5:
Harvey
Jamo
DK
