Caesars Poker Room to close for remodeling? mid July
Played today and the word going around is the rooms closing for remodeling. Not sure on the date of closing (heard maybe
Anyone have pictures of the new room?
You can get a good overview of it in this 'Travel Ruby' video from a few days ago (starts around 4min):
MGM was moved to a dungeon a decade ago and still has regs and randoms, always 3X the tables Caesars is currently running.

MGM's dungeon is right off the main entrance from the Strip and anyone heading into MGM from the Strip has to walk right past it.
Caesars room will get about as much walkthrough traffic as the Downtown Grand.

MGM’s location is perfect? Literally right next to the nightclub…prime real estate for people just walking by. Makes for lots of fun games and good table talk from evenings on. It’s kind of a dump, but that factor makes it pretty much a must visit for me every trip.
Wish they work on the lighting though.. I guess for NL it's ok but for stud games, def not ok

Mood lighting?
Stud? They spread stud games? I remember those little stud tables back in the day at Mirage but I haven't seen one of those in years.
they just had a 600 stud/stud 8 tournament (it overlayed 20k so they probably won't run it again) but it was hard to see other cards and they did not use a stud deck so made it even harder..
At Caesars??!?
I wanted to check out the new Caesars room today for the first time, I called to get my name on the list, and it was a 5-minute conversation with a person who barely understood English and couldn't answer any question I had, and I had to repeat my simple name 5 times before he figured it out.
It took forever to find the new room, talk about hiding it. Then of course my name wasn't even on the list. lol
It was 2 shorthanded tables of double tier credit grinder looking people, I left.
I checked out the new PH room today. I called 5 times in 30 minutes and nobody answered. I used bravo to sign in, but new to doing that and didn't really get much confirmation but was on the list when I got there.
Extremely hidden room, why so big for a dead room unless they get a lot of tournament action or something.
Was only there for 2 dealers and the first one was horrible and new, the 2nd one better.
Just seeing how they don't answer the phone and were extremely inefficient in filling seats makes me not want to return.
that's sad... congrates on finding the two of the three worst poker rooms on the strip.
Finally looked at the Caesars room yesterday.
The Planet Hollywood room at least has some signs in the casino mentioning it (in addition to mentioning where other things in the casino are).
The signs in Caesars Palace do NOT mention the poker room. That even includes one sign that is just a few steps away from the room. It directs people to other things nearby but not the room. I actually thought I might be looking in the wrong area and felt a little confused because wouldn’t a sign mention the room if it’s nearby?
Perhaps that will change because the room just opened, or maybe that’s intentional because they don’t want people finding it.
Also, the room is smaller than I expected it to look and doesn’t look good at all.
The only positives are it won’t be too loud and you won’t get much smoke in there.
We had an amazing game going two nights ago that was as big as any 2-5 in Vegas. Think I’ve been there 3 times, each time game played significantly bigger than the stakes.
I played the CP 10am donkathon on Wednesday. This poker room is the nut low. How anyone would choose to play there with all the other LV options makes me wonder? Cash anyway. The tourney is the softest of soft but after the break blinds raise exponentially and it is simply a shovefest. Its as if someone crammed a bunch of poker tables into their crappy rec room. It's cramped, it's hot, the ventilation sucks, the air is stale and smelly. The restroom is not convienient. Other than that it's great 😀
I had the same issue at Caesars, walked around for a bit and couldn’t find it so I just gave up. No signage at all, talk about hidden. Planet Hollywood like others said at least there is a lot of signage directing you to it, but it’s very off the beaten path. The positives are it really is imo a beautiful space, the chairs are great, everything is new. I played 1/3, game was ok nothing great. Friendly people. Very high rake of 5 plus 3 for only a 50 dollar high hand (though they say they are building the reserve to offer bigger stuff post wsop). They had a two dollar double board bomb bot game that looked good and I wanted to play but couldn’t get into it. They have like 4 $100 tourneys every day that seemed like they were getting good crowds. Not my bag but the people playing seemed to enjoy. Overall I’d play again probably but the main reason I went there was long lists everywhere else and just to see it.
Thanks for the heads up on Caesars - Mrbaseball - you saved me a long walk. Will check out PH - as I understand it is up the escalators where they used to hold the tourneys

I was in Vegas last week. Even after being given directions it took me 15 minutes to find the new poker room, and I was about to give up to be honest.
Venetian at least had signs in their casino pointing to the new room, as did PH.
The new PH was very nice though. Loads of space between the tables.
I agree that the new Ceasars room is both difficult to fine (no signage anywhere) and seems a bit depressive and cramped (low ceiling as well).
That said, it's only supposed to be a temporary location (although who knows with Casino Executives), and ultimately we should be happy that some places are bringing back their poker rooms. But hopefully they can put up some signs so that people become more aware of it.

There was a line in the latest Card Player stating that the eventual new room will be "much bigger", so they're at least making noises about not completely hating poker players. Of course, it took them forever to get to this apparently less than mediocre place, so who knows what will happen.
