2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Another one.
Imagine if DK cared as much as UD did when it comes to adding lower buy-in stuff. I'd be all-in my July.
I think by the end of the summer, CMC will be in the top 5-7 of ADP.
I'm starting to come around on him and the 9ers in general just based on having such an easy schedule.
Yeah, that plus the discounted prices, and it's hard not to.
Last year both Aiyuk and Deebo were going in the 2nd, while CMC was the 1.01. Kittle being a 5th round pick again after his season is hilarious, especially since he could be even more productive this year as he's probably the best pass catcher on the team. At least until Aiyuk fully gets back up to speed, which may not even happen this season. You never know how guys will come back from knee injuries.
I think most TE prices have correctly adjusted from last season, except Kittle. He should be a mid to late 3rd round pick, imo.
And then Jennings, Pearsall, and Aiyuk are simply bets on a good offense at a good price. I make sure Aiyuk is my WR 4-5 in most builds if I'm taking him. I like pairing him with Jennings/Pearsall/Kittle too. I also try not to do too much pairing of Rice/Godwin/Aiyuk, since we are still not sure if any of them will be fully ready to go week 1.
Depending on how high CMC moves up, I'll be somewhere between 8-12%. I'm aiming for 12-16% Kittle and might actually stop drafting as much McBride to get more Kittle. I'm aiming for 10-12% on all 3 receivers, knowing that at least one or two will likely pay off, unless the team completely crumbles again.
Yep 12% CMC is right around where I'd like to be.
Mahomes, Trevor, Dart
CMC, Najee, Charb, Bigsby, Hill, Moss
AJB, Tee, Hunter, Worthy, Aiyuk, Kirk, Slayton, Noah
Kelce, Strange, Kmet
Looks good
Love, Tlaw, JJM
Jacobs, Conner, Mason, Wright, Giddens
JJ, Tee, Hunter, Flowers, Golden, Pittman, Felton
Goedert, Likely, Chig
Also, how sad is it they we all (I’m assuming) already have the week 17 schedule fully memorized and it’s May haha
Didn't realize the SF was only $5. SW is doing a streamed draft at 5. So maybe I'll try to get in on that and get my feet wet to see how it goes. Then a Hound later tonight.

I think the 3-5-7-3 could be the nuts this year. You have early and late point opportunities everywhere. Love/TLaw/JJM should, in theory, be able to keep up with the elite QBs. And your TEs have the upside too. Harbaugh just said he thinks Likely can be all-pro. To the moon!

Who needs to memorize when you have the SpikeWeek RTA? 😆

Ya, it's a solid price point. They'll likely do a $3 Pomeranian SF later this summer too. It's a nice change of pace. I rarely completely punt QB and always want to secure a solid starter in the first 3 or so rounds, but right now, you can maybe draft some one a little cheaper until ADP adjusts. Although, whether a room is going to follow ADP or not is another question. The QB avalanche can be a real thing.
I also chase a lot of backup QB stacks, especially in the last few rounds. Tacking on Mullens to a Jags stack when you don't have Trevor. Levis on Tenn stacks without Ward. Mariota on Wash stacks without Jayden. And so on. Then the fringe starters/ambiguous QB spots like the Browns/Giants are way better clicks in this format.
I will also happily take 2 QBs in the first 3-4 rounds. I'm not sure if 3 QBs is correct, but you will see some drafters doing. I tend to lean no, since that automatically locks out one of those picks from your starting lineup every week, outside of byes/injuries happening. I'll still do it occasionally in certain spots.
From what I remember last year, Erik likes to punt QB for his precious elite WRs haha.
SF is also a weird transition since almost all of the stacks are QB first then back stacking rather than the normal 1QB formats.
I've cooled off on him a little bit. Most reports you see about him have nothing to do with football, and then the actual football reporting you see like this have to do with putting last year behind him or about his wrist injury or whatever. McDaniel has to be tired of the bs.
Is stacking more or less important or about the same in SF v normal BB?
I think it’s about the same. And I have no shame reaching in ADP to secure stacks, since this ADP is way less efficient.
In theory, WRs especially once you reach WR3-4+ range, are less important since you only have to start 2 each week. But you can still start up to 4, so that makes stacking still valuable.
RBs are more valuable, especially the ones with secure roles.
Being a little heavier at TE is fine too, since you can technically start 3 instead of 2.
Everyone thinks of the SF spot as primarily being QB targeted, but there are plenty of weeks where the positional players fill that spot.
Another SF feature compared to 1QB leagues I realized I forgot to mention is pairing w17 QBs together.
I guess it went about as well as could be expected for my first SF. Now I'll have to do one later tonight and see about taking 2 QBs in the first 3 rounds.
Stroud, Darnold, Shedeur, Zach
Harvey, Pollard, Pacheco, Guerendo, Dowdle, Chubb, Kendre
Lamb, Nico, Ladd, Reek, Higgins, Tillman
Jonnu, Njoku, Arroyo
I think that looks good.
Looks like I went 4 QB 75% of the time on my teams last year and 3 QB the other 25%.
Then I mostly went 6-7 of each of RBs/WRs and 2-4 TEs.
Hunt at 170 on DK is wild.
haha pretty sure I have 0 Hunt
I said that and then he fell 14 spots when I was building a pretty thin 0 RB team and already had Rice haha. Still feels bad 14 spots past.
