Ur betting too big which leads me to check.
Had u bet 1/3rd every street you could do so again on river for value.
Stack size important here, as well as, if your hand includes a 2 or is it a 3.
It is a $1/2 game so I originally was thinking $200 effective stacks, but then you would be all-in on the turn. And since it is a $5 bring in, the max buy-in is probably $500 or maybe $1,000.
Also title say you have a 2 which would be a full house, but post says you have a 3 which isn't a full house. I had a cool answer if you had the full house, but I don't know whatcha got.
Effective stack is 1000 to start the hand. We have QT83, a straight no boat.
Before the flop that is deep. On the flop that is still deep. I'd play the hand carefully, but not to the point of being afraid of monsters under the bed.
You are in position which is good. You are in position deep which is even better.
Villain is out position which is bad for him. Villain is out of position deep which is even worse for him.
Some people don't seem to understand it in both directions. What I would do to leverage being in position on a paired flop in this exact spot is to probably bet the flop for 1/3 pot. Then on this turn I would bet 1/2 pot on the turn. Now you end up on the river with almost exactly a stack-to-pot of 4. An SPR of 4 is exactly two pot sized bets. The villain, who is out of position which is bad for him and out of position deep which is even worse for him is in a tough spot to make a bet of any size because there is enough money left to play for that you could raise his bet to a full pot sized raise. If you can think through any of these SPR numbers like this in game, then you put a lot of pressure on your opponents.
On the river, I probably check back because there are plenty of times through a session where people just hand you their money that you don't have to make this river bet. I'm cool with anyone that wants to bet it, but good luck, calling or folding, if you get check-raised on the river for this many bb over the whole hand.
You wrote "1-2 plo with a 5 bring in" above in your opening post. In some (many?) of your other opening posts you describe the game you're in as a 1-2-5. Is this the same game or is the latter a different game with three blinds? I ask because within a longish driving distance from me are games with the structure of a $2 BB and a $5 bring in.
Anyway enjoy your threads and just wanted clarification.

When I say 1-2-5 itβs 1-2 blinds with a 5 bring in.
It'd be thin. Good spot for a disciplined checkback in theory. Most live games can safely put in the value bet however, especially since there will be few xr bluffs.
