President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
did you also like some of his other greatest hits?
kaffir is basically the n-word in africa
he also forced his teenage grand niece to sleep naked with him in bed every night - when asked about why he did all that incest raping he claimed that it kept him young and pure
Wow, dude was clearly ahead of his time. He was MAGA before Trump was even born!

The last I checked, quoting someone does not mean you endorse all of their worldviews.
This is just a very weird attempt at a gotcha. It’d be like if you quoted Oscar Wilde and I was like OH so you’re cool with exploiting poverty-class teenage prostitutes? You a pedo??
Like, what? Lol
he was definitely a sexual deviant and a dick, but the idea that he retained the extreme racism he had while living in South Africa throughout his life seems doubtful from what I have read. many of those quotes were from before he had seriously developed his anti-colonial ideology and was still seeing the Indian race as being nestled in the colonial spectrum of races a la social darwinism (which was quite popular at the time).

Hitler had a great quote although I am not 100% sure he was the one who came up with it. I do not endorse Hitler but would like to share the quote. May I? It's actually one of my favorite quotes.
not very alpha to ask permission
I'm assuming (hoping?) your favorite quote wont be about the joys of the holocaust so it will likely be fine

If you had to rate in order of your top 5 for who you'd endorse for 2028 prez.
Hillary
Hitler
AOC
Trump
Buttigieg
Quoting Hitler, eh? Next it will be, 'hear me out, he had some good ideas if you think about it....'

Or you could just refrain from quoting racist quasi nonces and you wouldn't get called on it, that might work too.
I didn't think the /s was necessary
This Ghandi character seems like a real jerk
he was definitely a sexual deviant and a dick, but the idea that he retained the extreme racism he had while living in South Africa throughout his life seems doubtful from what I have read. many of those quotes were from before he had seriously developed his anti-colonial ideology and was still seeing the Indian race as being nestled in the colonial spectrum of races a la socia
Depends who you ask, maybe.
How much more clear can I get than to say he exhibited βextreme racism β¦ while living in South Africaβ. Do you think that by βextreme racismβ that I mean he wasnβt racist?
The more power that Gandhi gained in the world (and the more experience he acquired) the less racist he became. This is quite the opposite of Trump, who exploits racism for power. Itβs a very similar trajectory to Lincoln, who also had racist (and like Gandhi relatively less racist) views, as was the era he was born into, but became less racist over time. There are some disgusting quotes from Lincoln too, who thought it was a good idea at one point for Blacks to voluntarily deport themselves.
Anyway, I think this article puts a lot of his life into perspective pretty well. I quoted the relevant parts about his evolution but feel free to read the rest of it if you find it interesting:
Indiaβs freedom must lead to Africaβs freedom
Gandhi was moved by the courage and determination of women in the last stage of satyagraha in 1913. The heroism of the working men and women led him to declare in 1914, βThese men and women are the salt of India; on them will be built the Indian nation that is to be.β
After returning to India, Gandhi built perhaps the largest mass movement in history of the Indian freedom struggle by uniting people of all classes and encouraging women to participate.
He kept up his interest in South Africa and often wrote about the oppression of the Africans.
He said in a speech at Oxford on October 24, 1931:
ββ¦ as there has been an awakening in India, even so there will be an awakening in South Africa with its vastly richer resources β natural, mineral and human. The mighty English look quite pygmies before the mighty races of Africa. They are noble savages after all, you will say. They are certainly noble, but no savages and in the course of a few years the Western nations may cease to find in Africa a dumping ground for their wares.β

In referring to βSouth African races,β he declared in Cambridge on November 1, 1931, βOur deliverance must mean their deliverance.β
In an interview to Reverend S.S. Tema β a member of the ANC β on January 1, 1939, he said:
βThe Indians are a microscopic minority. They can never be a βmenaceβ to the white population. You, on the other hand, are the sons of the soil who are being robbed of your inheritance. You are bound to resist that. Yours is a far bigger issue. It ought not to be mixed up with that of the Indian. This does not preclude the establishment of the friendliest relations between the two races. The Indians can cooperate with you in a number of ways. They can help you by always acting on the square towards you.β

In an interview to a South African Indian delegation in April 1946, he said, βTheir slogan today is no longer merely βAsia for the Asiaticsβ or βAfrica for the Africans,β but the unity of all the exploited races of the earth. On India rests the burden of pointing the way to all the exploited races.β
He abandoned his hesitation over joint action when Africans, people of colour and whites, all went to prison to show their solidarity with the Indians during the Indian passive resistance in South Africa. In May 1947, he told Y.M. Dadoo and G.M. Naicker, the leaders of the resistance, βPolitical cooperation among all the exploited races in South Africa can only result in mutual goodwill if it is wisely directed and based on truth and nonviolence.β
Gandhiβs declaration that Indiaβs freedom must lead to freedom of other oppressed people formed the basis of the foreign policy of India after independence. Under the leadership of Jawaharlal Nehru, India espoused the cause of freedom in the United Nations and the Commonwealth, in sports bodies and other forums. India imposed sanctions against South Africa in 1946 and earned the hostility of the western powers.
