If you play often at a Poker Atlas room and would like to see the list and how many are call ins and the names, then it's $5/month. Not that big of a deal except that it was previously free.

If you only occassionally play a Poker Atlas room or don't care about those features, then don't.

When it popped up on my app last night, my first reaction was "This is BS!" but then 15 minutes later I was subbing.

Not paying for that sht , might be worth it for bumhunters who snipe whales on the lists everyday.

No need to pay for anything. Click on poker rooms, then the wait list for registration and click on the small green print on top of the room, then click on the wait list button and you'll see the wait list with the numbers. Pain in the ass, but I'm not paying money for the list.

I'm sure they'll plug that hole with the next update.

Idk why it matters who's on the list. I only care about how many tables are running and what # I'll be on the list when I put myself on. Everything else is just noise

I care how many are actually in the room.

Fair enough...$60/year is pretty cheap for any pro looking to maximize their time

I checked and this afternoon I couldn't see lists but now I can. I'm guessing it's a glitch they'll fix.

If my local rooms start using Atlas I'd give them the 5 bucks a month.

you cant surmise a reason why knowing which ppl are on the list would be beneficial ??? Well see here in poker nowadays 95% of people play standard boring poker folding folding folding to maybe cooler someone UNTIL that one legend takes a seat. So its useful info

It seems some rooms have the feature that shows who is actually on the list and some don't.

I am a simple man. I sign up for the game, I get my seat and play. I don't feel the need to make sure I am on the list because Any-Two Tommy is on it and that's the one guy I can beat

But that is not really the point.
It makes a big difference to know if there are 10 call ins or 10 live names ahead of you for a game you wanna play

I like to optimize my time, and that’s worth 5 bucks to me

I don't see how that makes a big difference? if its 10 callins they'll call you faster, if its 10 live names they might open a new table soon. optimizing your time would be to put your name an hour before you predict you arrive to the location. that's it

stakes and number of tables is the only thing that really matters.

Main point is I think we can all agree that charging for something that used to be free for years is a big rat move on Atlas's part

So? Unless you are walking up to check-in AND they are going to call, those earlier callins might still show up before you get called. Checking in doesn’t move you ahead of a call in so long as that call in checks in before you are called.

Similar, maybe those 10 on the list got on it 4 hrs ago and since g@ve up and left so really you are 1st on the effective list.

These are extremes but reality is often going to be somewhere between potential extremes. So what the $5 tells you is actually limited and def doesn’t optimize your time.

there's definitely a difference b/w a live list and a largely call in list especially on a busy day where you know the room is at capacity.
Every room is different and you should get a feel for how the rooms you play in are. I've played in some rooms where I know most call ins won't show and in others where they mostly do show.

You can't surmise a reason why after 9-10 years of completely free service Poker Atlas may decide to put some of these features behind a pay wall to access them?

If you're simply bumhunting the best live games and unwilling to leave your house unless you see a whale is on the list then pay for the features. They didn't remove the feature from their app, they're simply charging for it. I don't see anything wrong with that

Issue with this is list could have like 90% callins or none and now you can’t see. Makes a huge difference on when you would go in. It’s not hard to make the software poker atlas implements so hopefully they get a competitor besides bravo which is absolute trash.

End of the day the consumer and poker room suffer. I see a long list and I can’t see they’re callins I don’t go in or wait til the end of the hour period and usually something comes up or I forget and just don’t go in.

All the people saying people are bum hunting I think most of that happens through text once the person gets there not tracking lists but could be wrong

There’s a new update and we can see the lists now. So basically nothing has changed, you can still go pro if you want more than 3 letters to your name.

Not for me. I get an offer to buy the PRO version if I want to see the lists

So now people will just have to call the desk and ask about the list until all the rooms complain to poker atlas that this is too annoying?

Or you could....

GASP.....

Pay $5/month. Anyone who can't afford this certainly shouldn't be gambling with what little $ they have

It looks like they've reverted the change to blocking out being able to see what position you are on the lists, which was my main gripe.

If I can simply continue to know — for the small price of the all the rake I'm already paying — how many people are ahead of me, and how many people are ahead of me who have already arrived, and the number of tables running for that game, I will be quite happy.

Some suggested three-letter names:

FPA
GFY
PAS
SMD
FUP

Seems like they could be tempted to raise the price over time if enough people think this way.

It’s not that anyone can’t afford it. It’s really more of an annoyance than it is anything to stress out about. If someone asks for $5, they are not poor, and in return they will give me almost nothing, I’m not going to pay that person.
