QQ facing 3! and pot cbet

QQ facing 3! and pot cbet

1/2 NL. I have about 500, villain about 1400. Villain seems to play well, but probably not professional. Seen him semibluff. He seems to bet when checked to, but I don't know if he something in those situations. He has not 3! in the 2 1/2 hours I have been at the table.

LJ and CO limp, I raise to 15 from SB with QQ, villain 3!s to 42 from BB, I call. Flop is T75,r. I check, villain bets 80. What should I do?

His range seems to be AK/QQ+, I think we can call once then fold all turns? or just fold
Against most villain I'd check/raise flop if I didn't 4bet.

Against a reg in a 2/5 game or whatever, I would think of 4-betting or checkraising the flop. This guy knew how to play, but I think his 3! range was really tight.

When he potted it, I thought he could have AA/KK. However, he could maybe be trying to blow me away with AK or some loose 3!, representing AA/KK. Or he could have JJ and think he is ahead and wanted to protect against overcards. So I am either like 10%, 75%, or 90% and sort of have to fold or gamble my stack.

Later same villain raised to 12 in ep, there was a call and a 3! to 36, villain in this hand 4! to 100, 3-bettor 5! shoved for about 400 total. Villain in this hand said he already had a lot in and had chips to lose and called. Villain is this hand had KK and shover had KQs. Maybe OK play in a 5/10 game or whatever, but the shove with KQs was beyond terrible.

What is your table image?

I don't understand not 4!/f QQ here in the SB, 250 bb deep. Versus a V who hemmed and hawed calling off a LP 5! with KK. V'll let you know if you're toast. Granted, you didn't know that at the time, but you did know they hadn't 3! in like 60-70 hands or so. If we are putting their 3! range at 1.5-2%, that's like JJ+/AKs. Are we just playing QQ for set value then?

Or hiding out until a safe flop---this qualifies---then going for it? If that's the case, I far prefer donking small on T75r. If V is fairly straightforward and tight, they'll let us know they've got us beat. I.e., they're calling, not raising big, with anything not AA/KK/TT.

Versus AP, as we're sweating what in Hades V potting flop means. Most Vs are going to overcall 77/55 here vs 3!, right? When there are 2 EP limpers to consider? Guess they can have TT and you can certainly have all of the above with 17-18:1 IO on a call.

Sizing is awkward to x-r/f. Are you calling a shove here if you click it back? Jamming 460 into 160 seems silly too though and I don't want to fold. Pot will be 240-ish with a call, 340 back, and that honestly looks pretty menacing to a thinking V on that board, after that bet.

So AP call, but really 4! pf would've been better.

Hmmm...

If V's 3B frequency is really low in general, and the population tends to under-3B out of the BB, his range is probably really strong here. What do we beat on the flop when he pots it, other than JJ?

I dunno man. I hate folding QQ here, but I might be able to find the fold in this spot. If we call, I think we're just praying to spike a 2-outer on the turn, or failing that, praying he's doing this with AK and will give up and check back, so we can get to the river and possibly showdown?

Hard to credit a guy who rarely 3B's with AK in this line. Feels like we're chopping at best, usually losing to AA/KK, and rarely if ever getting blown off our hand by JJ.

Calling the 3-bet OOP with QQ only to fold a T-high flop seems like a pretty big leak.

Flatting the 3-bet OOP with QQ vs a guy who hasn’t 3-bet in 2.5 hours is where things go sideways. If you think his range is tight but not only AA/KK, then just 4-bet. Calling puts you in a bloated pot OOP, guessing the whole way.

On the flop, T75r, and he pots it—yeah, that sizing looks strong, especially from someone not known to bluff. JJ does this sometimes, but more often it’s AA/KK or maybe TT. If you think he’s trying to blow you off with AK, you need to have a plan to fight back. Just calling feels like you’re hoping he shuts down.

Folding QQ here sucks, but the real mistake was pre. You either gotta 4-bet or fold. Flatting just sets you up for pain.

In most scenarios I'd completely agree. Here, it's an extreme exploit based on the read and configuration, with the implicit acknowledgement that it could be too extreme a deviation.
