New fast food discussion/review thread

OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

I grew up in a tiny bum**** town of ~10,000 people. The McDonald’s was ALWAYS packed, drive-thru often overflowing into the road. I can’t imagine the monthly profit that place pulls in.

Weird little town, FF wise. Has the best Wendy’s I’ve ever eaten at. Also home to one of the few KFCs that kept selling chicken littles after they were discontinued in the 90s.

In Mark’s defense, it’s kind of a shitty app.

Truth...

Every time I run the app, it asks permission to save tracking cookies.

you should get free cookies after clicking yes a dozen times

Chicken Littles are back.

I scouted BK today. Free any size fries with $1 purchase. Hell yeah!

Did double cheeseburger, add patty for $1.20, tomato and lettuce $0.15 each.

BK doesn’t have a triple cheeseburger but I created it!

It was piping hot when I got it and the fries were divine. They had the perfect amount of salt and were super fresh.

The rings weep in their Zesty sauce.

The free medium fries deal has been removed from my Ricks app. I'm never going to financially recover from this. Bastards also didn't refund 4500 points from my last order that I had to cancel after submitting my order and seeing the location had been changed on me to someplace halfway across town.

Good Lawdy! Anyone had one of these Carl's monstrosities?

Free small frosty with purchase today only in the app, which appears to INCLUDE the new frosty swirls and frosty fusions.

Local Wendys also had signage for $1 soft drinks during breakfast hours, nice work identifying a niche market!

Great Deal !

The Wendy’s Frosty Fusion is over $4 if you had to pay for it.

I did pay the $4+ for the poptart/strawberry/vanilla frosty the other day; it was pretty good

I could buy about 75 real poptarts for that price at my Dollar General.

This post has inspired me to go to Wendy's and ask for an order of poptarts, hold the Frosty.

National Donut Day is the first Friday in June, so coming up shortly. Looks for deals from your National chains like Dunkin and Krispy Kreme, as well as your local bakery, if you are lucky.

I know I'll be hitting up my Hihi Donuts.

yeah it seems optimal value could be found at your specialty local bakery like Hihi

also pause to wonder if we should expect free ones from some simple home or work place that spell it d'ough with an h before nut and simulaneously fry lunch chicken in the same krusty oil vat after ten thirty and crown themselves teriyaki king.

what's a diarrhea?

fascinating origin story

National Donut Day started in 1938[1] as a fundraiser for Chicago's The Salvation Army. Their goal was to help those in need during the Great Depression, and to honor the Salvation Army "Lassies" of World War I, who served donuts to soldiers.

Donut Dollies were women volunteers of the Salvation Army, who traveled to France in 1918 to support American soldiers.
Soon after the entrance of the United States into World War I in 1917, the Salvation Army sent a fact-finding mission to France. The mission concluded that the needs of American enlisted men could be met by canteens/social centers termed "huts" that could serve baked goods, provide writing supplies and stamps, and provide a clothes-mending service. Typically, six staff members per hut would include four female volunteers who could "mother" the boys. These huts were established by the Salvation Army in the United States near army training centers.

About 250 Salvation Army volunteers went to France. Because of the difficulties of providing freshly baked goods from huts established in abandoned buildings near to the front lines, the two Salvation Army volunteers (Ensign Margaret Sheldon and Adjutant Helen Purviance[6]) came up with the idea of providing donuts. These are reported to have been an "instant hit", and "soon many soldiers were visiting the Salvation Army huts". Margaret Sheldon wrote of one busy day: "Today I made 22 pies, 300 donuts, 700 cups of coffee."

Soon, the women who did this work became known by the servicemen as "Donut Girls".[7]

Sweet! I was afraid there might be a hole in my theory.

That's what I would have said if I was going to say it!

Anyone playing the Flappy Dragon game in the Burger King app? Everyday you play gives you 50-150 points. Need 750 for a free whopper.

Pairs great with the $3 kids meal.

not my fave pizza place, but I can't turn down a large 2-topping for only $6.99 from Dominos

It’s an insane deal

If you have points, you can double dip. I had 20 lying around so I got a free parmesan bread bites in addition to my $7 pizza. And I earned 10 points. Dominos may be meh but they're definitely good with the deals.

Probably gained at least 12lb eating $7 large Domino's pies in the past. If you're drunk it's like heaven,

Chili's Big QP Burger. It reminded me of when McDonald's made Quarter pounder fresh. Good!
