It’s been 2 years but I’m headed back to Vegas tonight! I was originally planning on dealing at the WSOP this year but another opportunity presented itself so my plans changed. I’m on the 9:57 pm Spirit flight from Orlando direct to Sin City! I stayed at NYNY my last trip and got another great deal there, 5 nights for a total of $85 including taxes and resort fees.

I’ve got a tentative tournament schedule planned out, all mixed games! I’ll also be in the pits with the usual Craps, Pai Gow, UTH, BJ and maybe a few sports bets. I seriously doubt I’ll play a single hand of any cash games unless my plans drastically change. Here’s the tournaments I have my eye on:

Tuesday 6/10
-$600 Big O MGM 2 pm ($40K)

Wednesday 6/11
-$1600 Big O Bounty Venetian 11 am ($300K)

-$250 PLO8 MGM 6 pm

Thursday 6/12
-$600 HORSE Orleans 11 am ($50K)

Friday 6/13
-$1000 PLO WSOP noon

My return flight is late Saturday night. The dream of course is to have to extend the trip because I’m still in the $1K PLO at the WSOP!! I sold half my action to a group of guys from my local poker room. I’ll follow up with bankroll and shoe pics. Lots more updates coming!!

Nice, good luck!

I’ve got 2 bankrolls working, $4050 for tournament buy-ins and about $4200 for myself. Packed light as usual so just the flip flops and a comfortable pair of walking shoes:

Flight was uneventful and we landed just after midnight PST. Jumped quickly into a cab, dropped my bag in my room at NYNY and went back downstairs to roll some dice. Little up and down for awhile then we had a nice roll and I turned $500 into this:

I’m not really tired but I gotta try and get at least a few hours. First tournament is the $600 Big O at MGM Grand, starts at 2 pm. Always nice to start the trip in the + column!

Looks great!

I’d love for you to post interesting and key mixed game hand histories

Good luck!

Didn’t get much sleep of course but feeling ok. There wasn’t a normal live craps table open but they just put in a hybrid bubble craps are where you bet using a terminal but there’s a shooter actually rolling the dice. Started out with a nice roll then went downhill fast and got into the game for $1000 and was stuck about $600. I was the only one playing so I was shooting every time and I got on a really good roll and was one number away from hitting the ATS bonus for $990. Just needed the 4 so I laid it for $200 to hedge and had maybe 10 shots at it before I rolled a 7 on a come out roll. Kept hitting numbers after that and when I finally sevened out I cashed out for this:

GL!

I haven't heard much at all about the MGM series this year. I'm curious to hear about your experience there after this Big O event.

I'm in! GL in the Big O today!

Tried getting more sleep but it was a losing battle. Hit up the Asian place at NYNY for lunch and it was sneaky good. Went simple with the General Tso chicken and steamed rice. It was super tasty but very spicy! Definitely would recommend. Hit the bubble craps table and once again got stuck before making a comeback and quitting +250. Just sat down in the $600 Big O @ MGM Grand, 25K starting stack, 30 min levels with a $40K guarantee. Here we go!!

Really fun first hand off the deck had A-2-7-10-J, I raised pre and was heads up. Flop was 9-8-3 rainbow, he check called. Turn 4 he check called again, river freaking deuce he led big I had to fold. Treaded water a few levels and got down below 20K. Picked up AQ543 with nut diamonds and raised pre got 2 callers. Flop was Q-10-2 with 2 diamonds, I get it all in vs a set of 10s with no redraw. I turn a a 4 which gives me a lot more outs, river is the Kd and I get the full double. Had just under 40K at break…

First hand after break I raise A2388 w/nut clubs button 3-bets and SB calls. I call and flop comes Kc-9c-2s and checks through. Turn is the beautiful 4c, SB checks and I bet 10K. Button calls and SB goes back and forth and I’m begging him to call but he folds. River is 8s, I jam, button calls with AA2 and I get 3/4. Unfortunately he didn’t have me covered and I’m now around 54K.

Coming back from 2nd break, just over 100K. Won a nice one in the last level, button raised SB calls i call with A-2-6-9-10 with nut clubs. I flop nut low draw with a gutter and check call, turn a flush draw we get it in. He has just a set of 5s with no redraw, I river nut low and a straight for the scoop! Big turnout 212 entries, registration is now over.

Keep the rungood going!

Peaked at 133K, lost a few after that and got all the way down to 42K. Got a double up then lost most of it when I got quartered. Coming back from dinner break with 76K @ 3K BB. Ended up with 221 entries, there’s 64 left and 28 get paid with $27K for first. Long way to go!

Busted somewhere around 45th. Got down to 32K and got it in with AAJJ2 double suited vs A543, he turned a flush and a 2 on the river for the counterfeit. Back at it tomorrow…

Interesting hand from last night that maybe I could’ve played differently. Blinds 1K/2K/2K, playing 7-handed. UTG+1 opens to 6K off a 42K stack, UTG+2 3-bets to 15K off a 130K stack. I’m next to act with AhAd5h4x10x and about 110K. Both players have been fairly active and seem really competent playing hi-lo. My thoughts in the moment were that I wasn’t wanting to get it in preflop for 55 blinds. I usually like to keep pots manageable preflop and wait for high equity spots postflop. I called and the original raiser called. Flop was 10x7h3h. Short stack shoved for 27K, the larger stack calls and I call. Turn is the 10h which I really liked even though it paired the board. I didn’t think it was that likely either player filled up. The larger stack checked and folded when I jammed. Short stack rolls over A-5-7-10-x lol and the river bricks the low. Just wondering if anyone would’ve just piled it in preflop? I guess it’s never a horrible thing to get it in with AA, especially with a suit and 2 other wheel cards.

Personally, I would have shipped as much as I could in there pre in that spot.

Yeah the more I thought about it I think it’s the right play. We weren’t close to the money at all so no ICM implications. Of course knowing the results I think it’s likely the original raiser probably folds and I may have ended up winning a huge pot against the bigger stack. I know you that’s results based thinking blah blah blah but I think I made a bad decision regardless.

Playing the Venetian $1600 Big O that just started. It’s a $300K guarantee with $500 bounties! 35K starting stack and 30 min levels. Got rinsed for -$1800 this morning playing craps at NYNY and Park MGM. Need some run good…

Ran up a nice stack early to 92K but didn’t get any bounties. Got moved to a new table filled with short stacks and newly registered players and had 2 chances to bust short stacks but didn’t get there. Currently sitting with just under 30K @ 1500 BB. Gonna need to make a hand soon!

Got my last 34.5K in preflop with A-2-10-Q-K vs 2 other players who also had A2. Board ran out with no low and I hit a 10 on the river for the triple up! Unfortunately there was a brand new player at the table with a fresh 35K stack so I didn’t have him covered. No complaints though, that got me to just over 100K. Sitting with about 90K now @ 2K BB, still 80 minutes left to register. A little excessive to have a 12 levels to register in a bounty tournament but should be some opportunities…

Hit a couple big hands and finally got a bounty! Registration finally over, 50 players left 32 get paid. Sitting on 258K @ 4K BB. 50K for 1st!

Ughhhhh just busted 16th for $3110 plus 1 $500 bounty. Had 380K @ 15K BB, opened Ac2c4x4x8x to 40K and got 3 callers. Flop Qc8s6c, I pot for 185K, monster stack on the button re-pots it and we get it in. He has A36Qx, turn is a freaking 2 and he rivers a 6 for the full scoop. Always frustrating to get that close to a good score and come up short! More updates tomorrow, not sure if I’m gonna play the $600 HORSE @ The Orleans or not.
