What ever you wish, it’s your list. My worthless opinions are…
Caesars…don’t count as was never, afawk, slated to close, purely just relocation.
PH…since was closed for years with indication would be perm, yes count
V…never played only been in V once so I don’t even recall precise details, but iirc, was more just a relo

Like I said not rules, so whatever you want.

Thanks for the feedback. I expect that I will just play at PH – that would be consistent with my past practice.

At dinner last night I outlined a route to 800 rooms to my wife – got the expected eye roll but have 5 trips laid out - West Texas (16), Houston (24), New England (15), Montana/Alberta (39) and Ontario/PA/OH (11). With PH that is 106 but unlikely to get a game at all of them. Checking to see if I can find a few other pockets of rooms – Eastern Wash State is a possibility. Otherwise, it is mostly ones and twos.

FWIW I did post a list of the rooms from the Washington State/Vancouver trip in the Seattle thread of the Venues & Communities forum. (I need to figure out how to keep the tabs straight when I copy and paste.)

A route to 800 rooms or 80??

I don't recall ever seeing your list. Do you play poker or just make inane comments?

Sorry if it offended you, I genuinely thought it was a typo, since a route to 800 rooms seemed highly improbable to me, unless you're talking about a "career" route.

I don't have a list, I'm just interested by this thread.

Yes, I play poker and I like it a lot.

It’s been a year since I last updated. During that time, I have visited 106 new rooms and played in 96 of them. Had expected to get to 100 but I guess that wasn’t in the cards.

These new ones get my totals to

Rooms Played in – 723

Been to – 868

Have Chips from – 831 of the 868

Rather than post the whole list of 723 rooms played in, I am putting up the most recent 96. The other ones are listed in post 650 (bottom of page 66) and post 575 (bottom of page 23).

Wow, Anytwo, that is an impressive chip collection and list.

I wonder if some sort of acrylic-like stuff could be poured over them to make a permanent display on your desktop.

Wow. I had wondered if you would get around to hitting Texas. Maybe one day you'll hit 1000.

Thanks - don't believe there are another 250 rooms left for me but I may make it to 800 - have 3 trips in the planning stage that would get me 60-65 more. Also going to see if i can't get to the 6 states with rooms that I haven't played in - Ark, Neb, N Car, N Dakota (hit 2 rooms there in early 2000s but no games going at either), Virginia and Wyoming. Also 1 trip would include rooms in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Interesting idea about the acrylic but wouldn't consider for main collection. I also have a little more than 350 chips that are either duplicates or from long closed casinos. Might try something with them.

Here is a picture of the map I keep for poker rooms. Kind of hard to see the colors but blues are rooms played in, green is been to and got chip, white is just been to and there are a couple of red ones that are on my "to do" list. Vegas is just one pin because if I had a pin for each it would blot out southern Nevada. If you click on the top of it you can enlarge it a bit.

DUDE! The Houston rooms alone are so impressive. You must have visited every one. I can't think of a room not represented here.

I did miss a few rooms. I had mapped out a list of 27 based on Poker Atlas plus some checking on Facebook and club websites. Played in 19 of them. Turns out 4 of those were definitely closed (Prime Social, Sterling, H-Town and The Wheel). 2 weren't open when I got to them during advertised open hours (4 Suits in Humble and Clifton in Bacliff - which looked like a deserted building). I was going to Broadway in Richmond late on Saturday night but got delayed in a double bomb pot tournament at Katy Poker (busted out 6th after 3 1/2 hours - lots of fun though). Left in middle of huge thunderstorm and passed up Broadway. Was going to Paramount on Sunday but after doublechecking looked doubtful it was open so went back to Texas Card House on Westheimer for second session of about 4 hours. Then off to airport.

Not sure how some of those rooms survive. Probably half only had one table running when I was there. Often helped start games up shorthanded. For example was at Capri around 6 pm on Wednesday and they only had 2 tables going. One broke shortly after I sat down. Then restarted an hour later after which mine broke. Nice room with 20 tables in stand alone building - got to wonder how they survive.

FWIW only 3 or 4 rooms were using time pay - rest were openly raking cash pots.

Took the opportunity to go by my old neighborhood off Belaire And Stella Link. Hadn't been there since my family moved to Michigan in 1962. My old schools - Mark Twain Elementary and Pershing Jr High- still there but old house has been replaced by McMansion that covered whole lot. Same with much of the neighborhood. There used to be a lot of open spaces in the general area but it is all filled in now.

I really like the acrylic poker chip desk topper idea. I can understand not wanting to do it with your main collection (how would you add to your collection that way?), but it would be amazing if you did that with duplicate chips. Just the way they were spread out all over the desk looked really cool.

Your list is certainly impressive.

As for myself I've definitely played at a number of rooms that is in the 100s, but no where close to 800. I never thought to really keep track. I was more searching for good profitable games and/or stopping off somewhere to play while traveling. So there are many rooms I stopped and played at one time years ago that I would never be able to remember the name of. More realistically for me maybe I could make a list of all the states I've played in?

Washington
Oregon
California
Nevada
Idaho
Montana
Colorado
South Dakota
Oklahoma
Texas
Missouri
Louisiana
Illinois
Indiana
Mississippi
Florida
New Jersey
Maryland

Also are the Kansas City rooms in Kansas or Missouri? I've played in KC but am not sure if any of the rooms were in Kansas.

Several of these states I've played in double digit numbers of rooms, like Florida, Nevada, Washington and probably California. There were also states where I almost played but for whatever reason didn't, like I showed up for an advertised tournament at a small room in Columbus, Ohio, but the room was locked up and closed when I got there.

What is that? 18+ states I played in? Not bad. I'm probably forgetting a couple, because for example driving through the eastern seaboard a few times I stopped at rooms, but can't necessarily remember which states they were in as the states are so closely packed. I remember Maryland Live was one of them, so counted that, but am not sure about a couple others as it's been a while.

It's also interesting to think about states with well known poker scenes that I have spent a fair amount of time in, but never played in simply because I was busy doing other things.

Arizona, Connecticut and Massachusetts are the first to come to mind. Like Talking Stick in Phoenix, Mohegan Sun and Encore are all places I would like to play at some point. I've been near to all those places but was with non-poker-playing friends or family and didn't have a chance to steal away. Also despite having played elsewhere in Illinois and visiting Chicago I never played in any of the Chicago city rooms which I've heard are excellent.

It's fun to reminisce but now I'm feeling old! If I keep it up I could get up to 800 some day.

For my next chapter I want to explore and play more globally. Ideally I would love to grow to where I am able to travel to tournament stops all over the world playing like $10k buy-in tournaments.

Right now I've got a chip and a chair and am closer to making that a reality than I have been in the past!

I think I had the Texas lead here with 40 so you passed me by a few. I still think I likely have the world record for most Texas rooms played by a non American.

Probably at least 100, all over the world.

In my experience, the best run rooms are in the U.S.A. The nicest room is the Merit in Cyprus but it's a little dodgy there. The worst, the Hippodrome in the London ; Dingy and the dealers are very hit and miss.
