Joyyyyy`s blog. Reg NL400 - NL2k.

Hey, mates!

The poker forum, so get right to the point . I've been rolling cash since the days when only holdem manager 2 was available. I quickly increased my limits and have been playing nl200+ since 2010. For about 16 years I have been keeping the winrate in the range of 8-9 bb/100. Sometimes progress ran ahead, but I caught up, and from time to time I went ahead myself. The most skill challenge for me as an old-school player is the transition from romantic poker to strategic poker, that is, the process of learning and introducing solver into the routine.

I played on almost all possible platforms, FTP – one love, except gg (the reason was a rake robbery). A double-digit number of eurorums, including unpopular ones, and since 2023 has added many, many different applications. Every room has profit.

The actual picture, everything that is on the laptop. Cuts from the top eurorooms. There are more from the world of applications, but there is a beautiful graph of $ not to file, plus most of it is not tracked in h2n. The win rate there is double-digit, but of course there are fewer hands.

About travel – China, Germany, France, Greece, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia - short-term trips. And of course Thai, Total spent about 3 years there in different periods: Koh Samui, Phangan, Phuket, Pattaya, Krabi, Tao.

In May, high-limit action suddenly appeared. I played more than 4k hands and more than 25 hours on nl2k. The lower one this month turned out to be nl500, and the average buy-in for the month is above nl1000.

I am pleased that, despite the limits, I did not get pinched and played uninhibitedly, the first number at the table in my usual style. The numbers on the screenshot confirm this, I specially uploaded nl2k to a separate database to check them.

Graph from nl2k only last month:

February 2010..

I am a 4th year student who came to the school of the Federation of Sports Poker. At that time, poker had a legalized status in Russia on a par with chess. The school was located in the same building as the nightclub, in the afternoon tournaments were held for beginners with an explanation of the rules with a symbolic buy-in of $ 3, and in the evening reboots and freezouts for $ 30-100. In the very first 2-table hash, I took 4th place and asked for $ 25 - they lured me. By the way, I remember how the director and the players told those who had just joined – Ilya Gorodetsky and Alexander Kravchenko came to our tournament two weeks ago, they were sitting at this table, playing tight))

The positive experience ignited a fire of interest in the game, and I began to regularly attend local tournaments. In the summer, the law banning casinos comes out, and all local bellagios become poker clubs. I still remember this moment clearly: I go into one of the central establishments, instead of roulette tables, there are poker tables, the spaces are huge, the 4 tables in the poker school are not the same, and all the casino regions are sitting behind the rink, each one has a girl manager who tells which combination the player has put together. By that time, the experience of the game had accumulated and there was a feeling of euphoria from the amount of super sweet reel playing.

In this anticipation, I'm going on an exchange trip from the university to China for 2 months. The Celestial Empire was completely different at that time, everything seemed very cheap compared to our prices. They looked at us blonde-haired foreigners like aliens without exaggeration, they asked us to take a photo. But the central street is built up with skyscrapers, which was amazing. And this is not even a top10 city. With food, the situation was on the verge of a foul, when you come to a cafe there are only hieroglyphs on the menu and not a single picture. All the spicy dishes are at their maximum, except pork in sweet and sour sauce. The noodle shop next to the dorm was saved, the soups were not spicy. I learned how to eat soup with Chinese chopsticks. So I spent almost 2 months in Beijing.

Upon returning, it turned out that poker had become a cover for slot machines and had lost its legal status, all clubs were closed.

I went online, the first room is FullTiltPoker. I made a br from the starting fifty at the SNG based on the book by Colin Moshman and moved to the cash immediately from nl50, quickly reached 200-400. At that time, I thought it was safer to keep money in a room than in a bank. That's how I met Black Friday. A friend borrowed money for a dep, and he was re-climbing from nl50 to PokerStars. I was on nl200 when zoom appeared for the first time in the history of online poker. I decided to test the new format, rolled it back with a good win rate for several months. Then, in 3 weeks, I roll 50buy ins nl200 into one gate – exactly half of the wall lamp, and at the moment when despair was already close, I pushed off from the bottom and recaptured the bay in a week. I made a month + 500 bucks in the end for a profit, about 50k hands.

Nice nice, I'll follow what's going on there.

Are you still in Thai? If you're around Pattaya there is a nice Mafia (game) club in Russian, feel free to have a look at it if you want more 'romantic strategy' in your life))

November 2013…

With a friend on the phone:
Zhenya: we were going to spend the winter in Tai with a group, at the last moment everyone refused, go with us.

- Hey, have you taken the tickets yet? Where to?

- Koh Samui. The hotel is booked for 3 days, we will find a house on the spot.

On January 3, my girlfriend and I arrived in the afternoon, went to eat and returned to the room. In the evening there is a knock on the door:
- hello! I'm Zhenya!
Before that, we only sorted out the hands on Skype, it's cool that in 90% of cases poker players have a lot of intersection points and you can easily meet offline in such a mood, as if you are communicating with a university.

We took a car for 3 days to find a place to live. Since it was high season, there were practically no options. We found a house on Maenama deep in the jungle. The house is cool – large, 2 bedrooms were at different ends with a separate entrance. The only drawback is that it takes 10 minutes by bike to get to the ring road, and it takes a very long time on foot.

There was also a huge terrace where we gathered for a barbecue. About 44t baht price.

They began to equip the workplace.

Zhenya was carrying a monitor, but it did not reach - the screen cracked. I only brought my laptop with me. Let's go to JIB to get the monitors. We pushed 2 tables together so that we could sit opposite each other and communicate, but the screen was not visible.

That's how we lived, rode, and rested. There were so many new and strong emotions that it seemed like we were living in paradise. You wake up in the morning, headphones on, and ride a bike through the jungle to music for breakfast or to the beach.

We got to know Koh Samui, many picturesque locations. About the island – there is a ring road along the contour. If you start from any point on the bike and drive straight without turning off, then after about 50 minutes you will return to the starting position. The island is divided into districts, which are named after the beaches.

The beaches themselves are all different – different sand, for example, large yellow on Maenam, and small white on Silver Beach, different wave/current patterns.

Nice posts so far - Good luck at the tables!

There are mountains in the center of the island, but there is a road that leads to the opposite point of the island, half the way up – a few viewpoints, a bomb view – then down. Ofk has a Chaweng hangout street with clubs, restaurants and bars red passion.

At the end of December, I flew to Kuala Lumpur to apply for a visa. The Petronas Towers were at that time the tallest twin towers in the world.

We went to celebrate the New Year at a seafood rest, then Green Mango, the legendary club that has existed on Koh Samui for the longest time + fireworks on the beach at midnight. There are crowds of people around, music, everyone is relaxing and every 10m there is a point with fireworks. The celebration stretches for hundreds of meters along the beach.

In mid-January, the rental of the house was coming to an end, and the location was changed to apartments on Lamai.

Leisure and entertainment:

The light mode is over, I'm starting to grind - in 4 weeks + 17k at the checkout.

Hello man just a quick message to say that the "storytelling" part is great and fits well in the post.
See you soon on this blog 😉

Back to the Future

In my youth, one of the main entertainments, in addition to yard football, was TV with a video player and VHS cassettes. I had in my arsenal: mortal Kombat, home alone, difficult child, mask, and back to the future.

I've watched each tape dozens of times in a circle, when you already know almost all the phrases by heart, my favorite game is to say the hero's line from memory a second before he says it himself. All the paintings remained forever in my memory, but Back to the Future seemed just brilliant and took a special place. Remember Greef?

I received feedback in the comments, and many were surprised that photos from wintering 10 years ago were preserved. And I remembered that I have the opportunity to pierce the space–time continuum even more steeply. There is still a hard drive from the first PC for poker, on which there is a live session on FullTiltPoker.

I assume that most readers might not have found this legendary room online, as they joined the poker industry later. If you're interested in seeing what poker looked like 15 years ago, gameplay, lineups, software, and meta – fasten your seat belts to DeLorean and set off on December 24, 2010.

Damn i miss FTP!
Great blog!

Hi. nice blog, ftp before was really nice place to playing

December 2014...

On my last trip, I clearly didn't have enough time to stay in Tae, and with the approaching cold weather every day, I wanted to return to the island more and more. Let's act! The apartment was booked remotely this time. I'll take a tour of the room

Maenam Beach. Four-storey house, studio on the top floor with sea view. There's a remote control next to the bed that makes such a thing - it's a great idea. You wake up in the morning, press the button, the curtains themselves open and you can see the palm trees, the sea and Koh Phangan in the distance.

Workplace. By the way, do not roll over the chair - it is more convenient than many expensive options. Elbows on the table and excellent lumbar support.

Chill zone.

From the very arrival, a Thai cat came, defaulted, and often hung out with us. He had a secret trapdoor, could climb onto the roof, from there into the ceiling space and land on the bed.

End of part 1

great blog man, interesting and well written.

all the luck for you

moar

There is a pool at the bottom and a 1-minute walk to the sea.

There is a Maenam poker club on the ground floor. Lol, it's a coincidence! There are several of them on the island, and one of them is right here. I came down several times when there were parties, to chat and ride off, a pleasant atmosphere, but without much enthusiasm.

In addition to the skating rink, I went to the gym - the harsh and legendary HIPPO'S GYM. Just at that time, Jayser1337 was training there, but they missed each other by timing.

By the way, on the same one as on the Maenam jay there is a cool Indian rest - Babu's indian hot. I recommend it In general, I love Indian cuisine, top dishes: daal shorba (lentil soup), palak/mater paneer (cheese in various sauces), chicken tikka, alu gobi (vegetables), malai kofta and specialty tortillas (cheese garlic naan)

The community. A powerful PokerVillage was based on boputa at the Whispering Palms resort (if anyone remembers, there was a blog on gt) consisting of bizi, sega1989, RD, bablo_syda. On weekends we went go-karting and badminton. The cartodrome itself was a top, the races were timed, and at the end they gave out a printout of the time on each lap and highlighted the fastest one. There were reckless Israelis whose goal was to ram each other))

It was evening - there were going to be tournaments at the base, the Sunday Million anniversary. Fun, but without itm.

Mtt pain of course! Minus mode, we stayed until the morning, but with no result. Those who flew out went to play fifu on a curling iron. After such nights, you roll a regular session in the cache - you feel unreal pleasure from the process. It's like coming home.

I got a lot of photos, I'll split the post into two parts.
