But an overall profit of $1130-ish USD is definitely better than I had expected before I left, so I can't complain at all about that. When I read about good tournament players on here like 'DogFace' and 'TJ Eckleburg12' bricking practically everything so far, I realize that could easily have been me as well. So let's put it down as a decent 'WSOP'-debut for me, although there a

Things I have experienced in the last calendar year:

- Cashing three live tournaments on the same calendar day.
- An 0-for-18 streak in live tournaments.

Tournaments are not for the faint of heart. They've helped me with the whole "robotic" thing since I've become largely desensitized to runouts. After a while, nothing surprises. I still find them very enjoyable though. The thrill of the chase keeps me coming back because the deep runs can be a lot of fun.

Walking away with a profit from tournaments over any decent volume is not easy without a mega bink, so I think you can count it a successful trip on that front. I had a hunch that your analytical approach would do well in bigger tournaments, as I think you'd be comfortably +EV in <$1k entry fees and probably beyond that price point. Summer in particular is a good time to fire some tournaments in Vegas because you get an influx of more casual players compared to the offseason. Lots of krill out there for a Whale.

Sorry we didn't cross paths, but guessing there will be other opportunities in the future.

I appreciate it. Sadly whatever I touch it turns to ****. Off to a good start then I 3-bet AhKh to 4500. 3 calls and we go to a flop of 3h2h5x. Checks to me I open jam. Get called by 54o. Turn K river brick and we are out.

that would be a win, so guessing the run out was different?

tourney bust outs are by far the most sickening imo. some idiot calling with terrible cards and then getting there and being rewarded for his awful play feels way way worse than cash games where we can reload

keep at it.

Typo, he had 54o on 543 two hearts and turn K

Whaddaya gonna do when 54o calls 3 bets pre? I so much more enjoyed playing on a table full of crushers.

WRT the weather, there was an unseasonable heat wave that has been moving through the western U.S. the last 3 weeks. It's been 5 to 10 degrees F hotter than normal. It's only cooled down a bit this weekend.

Maybe that also put a damper on cash game lists too? I have no idea. Typically the lists for 1/3 have been 50 to 70 names long in the most popular rooms during WSOP.

Yea that’s what people said too when I complained, that you want them to call with 54o. Which is technically correct except when you are getting crushed in every spot possible for 2 weeks straight.

Anyway, **** it. Such is poker. Tomorrow is a new day. Until then some food porn as thread saver.

Salt & Ivy steak and eggs:

One of my favourite foods in all of Las Vegas, Javiers at Aria and the trio enchilada del mar (horrible pic because it’s dark):

Now enjoying a Woodford reserve (thanks Leon!) at Bavettes with a cheeseburger. When in Rome, or Vegas I guess:

Yum

It almost feels like winning the WSOP main event! In for 400 out for 740, first win in I don’t know how long:

Plan is to walk around a bit and get some food and then reg for the 10 am $500 bracelet event.

Holy **** just had the god roll at roulette at the Bellagio just now. In for 200 out for $2700:

There is a small glimmer of hope for a breakeven trip. Maybe just maybe.

I missed out on the ATS as I rolled a 7 when the point was off, but ended up rolling and hitting points basically nonstop for 15 minutes. This was the first good roll I had since my limited play this trip. Was so much fun!

Swongs are 1 thing!

Where was this run good a week ago?!?
