Clearing a single letter card makes more sense than a four letter card imo

And the more we clear from the left the closer we get to multiple letter cards on both sides

Since C is now open i'll put C5 related to L5 out there as well

As a guesser I will say if Mother doesn't count correctly for Mom I would think you're allowed to mention m6 so we don't go for it

Also, how do mom/mommy count as the same thing, but mum is separate? That's really no different than what that idiot was doing the whole time.

That really was silly tho that he's giving that woman so much **** for different pronunciations of the same word, and then they flip up mum as one of the answers. Didn't she already say that?

at this point cat is out of the bag so we can talk about it

rules of the game have ufo = flying saucer so def mom=mother by rules of game, but we did decide at some point x months (years?) ago that we wanted the guess to be exact with the card

however, I also wasn't sure if mother could be a clue for mom; not sure if same root or not; I would have mentioned m6 if I knew they were different...so if we had clarity we would have mentioned m6 and they guess mom if they are different or if they are the same we count mother as mom

in terms of how guessers could have differentiated:

1. We didn't clue d3 for Mother's or m3 for Mother May I

Another wrinkle is if mom != mother for our thread then does mom = mommy? If so, we could have clued daddy opposite to get that version and avoid all of this

anyway, we just need to decide:

1. Does mom = mother
2. Does mom = mommy
3. Can you clue (or really hint at a clue in this case as confirmer/denier) mother for mom or are they considered illegal to clue for each other bc close enough to same root?

we should decide those as a group so more clarity going forward

for today, unless that discussion happens soon and the answer tells us whether we burn a card or not, I think I'll just start up next round to keep things moving and we can burn a card on the back-end if we decided mother != mom and we need to burn a card

Mom being on the list is terrible anyway. The target word should be mother. If dad is on the list, let’s go ahead and either get that changed to father or agree that they’re the same thing.

The game becomes a joke if things like grandpa ≠ grandfather imo.
