Build Bankroll to $1000 w/ SnG's & MTT's this summer
I made a plan this summer to stop playing cash/ring games and exclusively focus on SNG and MTT tournaments. I don't really enjoy cash games (too slow and boring) and I wasn't doing well either in the past couple months. Basically any money I made this year came from tournaments and my cash game is nearly break even. I had built my bankroll from $300 to $840, and then a few bad cash sessions fell to around $700.
Also, going back and forth between ring games and tourneys doesn't really allow me to focus and build up my instincts on either one. Ultimately I have far more experience at tournaments, especially SnG's and want to build on this and get to bigger buy in levels. I've been waking up earlier to play at least a couple SnG's before my family gets up.
It's been going well so far. In the past 3 days I've won 7 out of 9 triple up SnG's with a 4 game win streak. Although I haven't had a chance to play any recent MTT's. I'm also playing just one Heads Up match a day for practice, but only won 6 out of 15 of those so I need to work on my heads up game. But I know it's not luck to win 4 in a row or only lose 2 out of 9 so I'll keep at this plan for the foreseeable future. Bankroll is currently at $770.

Finally played a couple MTT's tonight. I min cashed in both. It was pretty wild. The first one I paid the BB and then got table changed to UTG and had to pay the big blind again. I ended up getting into the money with 1460 chips left at 1000-2000, 200 ante and the big blind coming back around in 3 more hands. The next MTT I stole the blinds once with A5 on the button, and then got lucky when I got table changed UTG to the button so I skipped paying the blinds that round. Made the money with 12499 chips left at 20000-40000, 8000 ante. I usually will make a move before this point but if I have garbage hands against players betting than I will fold all the way if I'm close to the money. Bankroll up to $789.
5 MTT streak in the money (with 1 final table)
15 out of 18 in the money MTT + SNG.
7th in the $4777 guar $25 buy in for $178 (busted w 99 to KK).
It was marginal shove. Any worse than 99 and I would have folded and waited. It was 150-300k and I shoved 1.4mil. The guy who called was CL and had limped UTG. I was a suspicious but he was playing really loose and limping and calling all ins with with weak hands like QT, A7, and Q8 so I felt like there was a high probability I was up against a weaker hand. Unfortunately this time he had KK.In future I might just hold out for better situation and try to get another pay bump or two at the level since I had a couple players with less chips than me and there's lot of weak shoving that stage. But overall I am pleased and will keep going with this strategy. Bankroll up to $963.
