2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Works for me
I’ll be tied up tomorrow. I might be able to make Sunday afternoon work.
If not, I can be available most weekdays, since I work from home.
Sunday afternoon is probably fine for me. I also work from home so most weekdays work too
Sunday works. I also WFH so during the week is fine as well as long as I'm not doing interviews lol.
Haha, you should fire one up during an interview and see if they know ball. "So, tell me, do you prefer elite QB or elite TE? And why?"
Let's plan to do a weekday, as that's easiest for me to coordinate since I know I'll be in front of the computer. I can do this Monday or Tuesday any time from 10 am est or later.
Sounds good, let’s do Monday anytime 10-2Est if that works for Newguy
yep 10am or 1pm would be perfect. 11am could also work
Tried something a little different in this SF. I didn't care about stacking for my starting QBs unless it came naturally. My focus was more on building stacks w/o a QB and W17 correlation. For my backup QBs, I did make sure those were stacked. I did manage to get Pitts (5 spots before ADP), but passed on Taylor to stack with Fields and took Otton instead to complete the Bucs triple.
This was a 2-2-1-0 start. I'll probably try it again with a 2-1-2-0 start.
Fields, Penix, Z. Wilson, Mac
Saquon, Bucky, Henderson, Warren, Tuten, Hunter, James
Tee, Adams, Waddle, Godwin, Aiyuk, Palmer
Goedert, Pitts, Otton
Still had a 2-2-1-0 start, but a little more stacked this time around.
Herbert, Penix, Minshew, Garoppolo
Bijan, Breece, ETN, Mondre, Blue, Chubb, Ford
Puka, Adams, Worthy, Ridley, Mims, QJ, Noel
Kelce, Njoku
Sounds good. Let’s lock in 10 am. We can all post here once we join. I think those rooms fill relatively slowly, so it shouldn’t be hard to make sure we are all in the same draft.
Anyone else itt is welcome to join too.

This is an interesting exercise. Every time I think about deviating from chasing a stack with my QB, I decide that I’d rather just stack with my QB, even if I have to reach haha. The most I’ll reach is probably about 15 picks. If it’s more than that, I’ll generally play it and hope they come back on my next pick.
But take Penix, for example. He’s tough to stack with London, but not impossible. I’ve got him with Bijan a few times too. If you miss out on those 2, Mooney is hard to stack with since they are on opposite sides of the board. I’ll usually just reach for Mooney if I have naked Penix at that point. I’ll usually like Mooney more than most of the guys I’m reading over too. If not, you end up with Pitts/Allgeier/Ray Ray. And it can probably work, but I’d really like one of the top three guys with a QB like Penix.
Looks like I've got 6 Penix teams in the SF, and only 1 with London.
I have 2 Penix/London and 1 Penix/Bijan. None with all 3. I have 8 total Penix teams.
I drafted this one last night. It was so close to glory. I've never seen Goff or Tee fall that far.
The full team isn't terrible, but it sucks knowing what could have been. When taking Burrow, I think you basically have to lock in Tee, but I pushed it with the Bryce fall. I almost made it happen.
Burrow, Trevor, Bryce, AR
Henry, Kamara, JK, Benson, Bigsby, Moss
ARSB, Tet, Reed, Kupp, Dyami, ADM, Burton
Gesicki, Strange, Sanders
Ya, it can work. I just didn't optimize ADP as well as I could have. So was feeling a little down right after the draft, given it's already not a great strategy haha. I do think bully TE is more viable with DK scoring than UD scoring.
Has bully TE ever been a winning strategy statistically?
It could work. (in response to Heels SF team). No clue about bully TE.
Could you guys start labelling teams as SF? I can figure it out eventually but it would be nice not to have to parse through to figure it out.
Thanks!

Stroud, Tua, Shough
Achane, Kyren, Henderson, Pacheco, Shipley
Nico, Adams, Olave, Shakir, Shaheed, Bateman, Doubs

The QB room is thin but if Tua can stay away from concussions and Shough ends up being the dude it could be good.
You have a few too many Saints for my liking. Are you high on the Saints this year? The Saints starting QB is gonna have to light it up for even one of these guys to hit. The guys you did pick all have spike week potential so it could work.
RBs and WR's are solid. I love the Nico/Achane start.
I've come around quite a bit on the Saints. I think they're the best of the really bad teams (Saints, Giants, Titans, and Browns).
1. Other than TEN, there isn't much ambiguity at QB. All signs point to Shough being the guy. We can only really guess at who is starting W17 for the Giants and Browns.
2. Olave and Shaheed might be on the list of most underrated WR duos.
3. Juwan is pretty good.
4. Kamara can still be involved in the passing game, and might get more TDs if Taysom is out of the mix.
5. Should be behind in a lot of games which means more passing volume.
Most of the analysis has shown it be suboptimal. And when it was +ev, that's because one of the TEs crushed so much, the other one didn't really matter. So still suboptimal.
It results in below average advance rates and hasn't really shown the ability to matter in the playoffs, since so few TEs spike in a way where you can win with one in the flex. But I think pairing Bowers/McBride could uniquely work, given the way they score in DK's scoring format.
I'll do it rarely on DK, but I like having a few in the portfolio. I won't do it at all on UD, unless I get the opportunity with Bowers/McBride. Even then, it's not great, but I'm going to take that uniqueness and try to make it work.
This SF team turned out okay given I started QB/QB/QB and went 0 RB.
Hurts, Fields, Caleb
Kaleb, BRob, Najee, Javonte, Mondre, Shipley, Sampson, Keaton
Ladd, Wilson, DJM, DeVonta, Kirk, Malik
Goedert, Pitts, Kmet
That RB room can come through.
I’ve done some more start 3 straight, but I’m still not a huge fan. I like 3 through 4-5 more than 3 through 3. And I still also like locking in 2 starters and pushing QB3. I’m ending up with quite a bit of Ind/NYG/Shough in those builds.
I’ve actually been doing something that I haven’t seen a lot of people doing.
It’s easiest with the 1.01, but you can usually pull it off with all 4 of the top QBs. Take two of RB/WR at the 2/3 turn. Then double tap QB at the 4/5 turn.
I think it’s the best of both worlds.
DK 3 dollar. Pick 12.
I have a very young RB room. I'm gonna need some luck. I kind of got buried here.
QB) Daniels, Maye, Lawrence
RB) Jeanty, Henderson, Mason, Tuten, Ford, Somebody named J Croskey M, Taj Brooks
WR) BTJ, Tyreek, Deebo, Diggs, D Douglas, Bryant, Dyami,
TE) Hock, Ertz, Strange

It looks pretty good but I like Kaleb, Najee, Javonte, Mondre, Shipley and Keaton.
