Lilac Club Casino has been in soft open mode since Tuesday, ribbon cutting tomorrow.
As well as NLHE and PLO they are also spreading 5 card PLO, which I haven't seen listed on Atlas in the other New Hampshire rooms.
Rake is 10% up to $5; promo drops are $1 at $10, $20, and $50 - $3 max.

We are moving our Mohegan Sun High Low mix games over to FOXWOODS.

. 3 Wednesdays 8-16 OE starting at 9:00 a.m. sharp.

Does anyone have any news on the new casino opening in the mall in Salem, NH? Any details on timing etc?

Ah yes,

where the Lord & Taylor used to be.

The latest gossip I've been made privy to is that the management team is coming up from Maryland Live.

I heard they'll be opening in stages, with an initial soft opening with a mere 7 table games and 7 poker tables.

Online it says

. But a VIP opening on 7/7 seems like an obvious thing to do, right?

It'll be interesting having another poker room so close to Chasers, basically a stone's throw away across South Broadway. You won't have to hit and run; you'll be able to hit and walk swiftly. :p

One of the floor supervisors from Chasers left, and took a management job at Casino Salem. It sounds like he has been able to entice some of the dealers from Chasers to move over to Casino Salem. One weird NH rule is a dealer can not normally be licensed in two casinos in the same city. Although it sounded like there was going to be a temporary exception for Casino Salem.

With Salem opening, there are going to nearly be as many tables available within 20 minutes of where I live as there are at Mohegan and Foxwoods combined. These are not destination resorts. Hard to see how all of them will survive.

Any idea how many poker tables Live! is supposed to have once fully operational?

Phil Helmuth will be at the Lilac Club Casino in Rochester for a meet & greet/book signing/Q&A on August 15th 7pm

He will also be playing in their tournament the next morning (August 16). No way to buy into that tournament, apparently you have to win your way in via cash game promos in advance.

Sounds like they are working on making satellites for this.

Salem Live! Had there opening day today.

6 poker tables as of now being offered.

Games being offered atm;

1/3 NL
2/5 NL
2/2 PLO
5/5 PLO
$5 DBL Board PLO Bomb Pots!

We had the first game going at just after 5pm (1/3/6), 7 handed. 10%, max $6 + $3. Straddles UTG only but may allow OTB eventually. Bomb pot on dealer change. Vloggers allowed with no faces and as long as no one objects.

Only 15% of the casino is open. Will open in phases with 20 tables eventually when fully opened. It’s effectively the staff from Chaser’s with some from Encore and other NH rooms.

Comfy chairs, shufflers in each table, nice chips and felt. And great lighting. Long-term outlook is good imho.

Are the Double-Board bomb pot games only bomb pots on dealer change, or are they every hand?

Looks like Dover is trying to get poker going again, had 1 table of $1/$2NL Saturday night.
Think it's the first time they've had a table run since the Lilac opened.

Whatever happened to anti-trust laws? Oh well. Like Venice said, it's possible to have too many poker tables. Although... I had an over 2 hour wait for a 1/3 seat at Encore on Monday. It's just where the tables are, and where the demand is, aren't quite aligned.

I wonder if they'll keep both locations: one for poker, one for house games.

The deal is subject to NH Lottery Commission approval, but fwiw Revo (NH Group, LLC) operate 5 of 15 gaming locations in the state, this would only be the second for both Churchill Downs (Chasers) and Sal Lupoli (Aces & Eights).

The release says they'll continue to operate both, but they also aren't currently using the full Lord & Taylor footprint in phase I. If they expand it in phase II I could see them shutting Chasers and just bringing everything under one roof. As it is, Chasers current building is pretty make-shift & cramped and never has enough tables on Sundays. Conversely, if they did shut Chasers I imagine they'd have to abandon that gaming license, and I can see some merit to not wanting to do that.

Guessing this became a little awkward after Chasers' parent bought Casino Salem...

From what I hear, the Chasers building has 2 years left on the lease. Also, the dealers that left for Casino Salem are not making that much money yet, and they are bellyaching about it. The Chasers dealers make a decent living.

Anyone know how turnout has been for the noon Saturday tournaments at the Nash?

I was told that it was a handshake deal that Churchill Downs was going to buy-out Maryland Live! the whole time and that the personnel who moved/took positions with Casino Salem were not only in the dark, but completely screwed over. That came directly from one of said personnel. If so, that’s pretty gross.

The couple of times I've been there, it looked like about 60-80, including re-entries. Certainly less that 100.

Thanks so much for this, really helpful. Have you been recently? How did the structure seem to you? It’s an hour’s drive so trying to decide whether to risk the hike for a 20 person turnout or just play cash at Encore today. Thanks again!

Haven't been there in the last month or so and when I did, I was playing cash. It has 30 minute levels and re-entry until about 3. I saw a couple of tables still playing in the late afternoon.

The Lilac added a cash game with Phil Helmuth Sunday (8/17) 1pm-3pm, sounds like he will be hopping tables in the room.

What stakes? Is Phil Helmuth just going to hop onto a random $1/$2 table and sit down and play with $300?
