online pros living in Vietnam thread
I'm an online pro living in HCMC, Vietnam (district 2) and interested in starting a thread for those of us living here t
It's def worse than Philippines. Well Manila is prolly worse when it comes to the time it takes to get from A to B but at least they have some working traffic lights and peeps who tend to follow them. In VN it's moar like 100m scooters and survival of teh fittest. Crossing a main road is def not recommended, it's a gamble.
in saigon atm. any reliable usdt to cash swaps?
I've used bitcoinvn.io a few times reliably, and also binance p2p which is much lower fees and was instant and quick, best method imo. I've heard any currency exchange/gold shops will do it as well
Just got here 6 weeks ago or so, always down to go grab some drinks with anyone thats around Saigon, I'm in Thao Dien

Fuark, I left Thao Dien in 2019, I used to live there for a while before. It must have changed a lot since I was last time there, I heard that they finally finished to build the metro too, how is it? Give some TRs if you can, I am really curious
I use revolut here and there is a fee between 30k-45k VND (1.17-1,76$) per cashout. Buy the metal premium for about 16$/ month then you have no fees more than this up to 800$/month. Although Saccombank which seem to be lowest fee, there is max cashout for 3 million VND so yeah some more fee if u cashout for rent n bills as you need to do 2-3 withdrawals. You get like 1% cashbac
TP Bank & HSBC have zero withdrawal fees.
For the visa run you can pay an agency to sort it, that way there's guaranteed no headaches (assuming the agency is reputable). The first visa run with an agency i paid approx £120 for 90 days and a return limo bus to the Lao Bao border. That was from Da Nang and took 12 hours total.
Now I hire a motorbike and do the border run myself. Way more fun with interesting stops along the way.
BTW - if anyone wants to grab a beer hmu, I'm currently playing live tournies in Da Nang.
If anyone wants to meet up in da nang dm me, just got here
Troll?
I would stay away from any poker if it not "Mtt" in license place.Oh yeah that's definitely true. Even the MTT club can run illegal cash stuff and get raided. But foreigners often get a pass on these matters. As long as you stick with the original MTT you will be fine
hello guys. Is online gambling illegal in vietnam? Can foreigners still play online poker without any legal consequence? I can not find any information. I only find that foreigners can gamble in brick and mortar casino, but I never found anything about online poker.I want to come and visit, but worried about playing. It sounds silly i know, but I am just weary of getting into a
Nope, they dont care nonetheless. Just dont get involved with any "local agent" and you are fine. Vietnamese police cannot care less about you playing online at some foreign host since they can't arrest the organizer and charge any money out of it.
HI all! I am looking to travel to Vietnam to play the WPT Vietnam event at Crown Poker Club in May.
Just wondering if someone can confirm if there will be cash games at the casino? I keep reading different things about cash games in Vietnam but just wanted to confirm so can bring proper bankroll. Any help is much appreciated!
Nope. No cash game. Anybody tell you otherwise is trying to get you to an illegal cash game that expose you to getting arrest. The cop has been super motivated about these raids lately given how profitable they are
Thanks for clearing that up—really helpful for anyone planning a trip and curious about the legal side of poker in Vietnam.
Good to know where the boundaries are.
Any players in Da Nang right now?
Been in Vietnam a few months now, and honestly, it’s been a great base. Super affordable, good food, and solid internet for grinding. Getting in was straightforward too — the process was all online and didn’t take long. Just make sure your passport has enough validity left. Anyone else set up in Da Nang or HCMC long-term? Wondering how you guys handle visa renewals or extensions.
Hi guys. Just moved to Da Nang. Looking to grind online poker for 3 months, could use some advice. For transferring the account pokerstars want a rental agreement which I have and a photo id issued by vietnam, which I don't. They just give me an e-visa which is without a photo. Has anybody been through this and found an easy solution? Would it be better to use a VPN?
Thanks!

What is the exact wording from PS about the ID? I don't think you can get a vn issued ID without a business visa.
Yeah actually when I talked to someone else about it , they accepted any ID. They did have a problem with the house contract I sent because the dates were written out on it, but I've been playing away without any problem.
There are multiple poker clubs, but they officially only have tournaments. I think some also run quasi-cash games in a 2 hour tournament format. Search pokeron google maps, and you will find a few rooms. Check their facebook page to see if currently active, as some randomly close, then re-open etc.
And then there is the game at Crown casino. 2/5 and 5/10 usd. Usually starts around 6pm. High rake. Smoking at the table. Mostly Chinese and Korean players.
The somuchpoker website is usually a good place to start for SEA. Many clubs are listed for the Danang area. Probably only a few of them actually run, but that's what you have to find out on the ground. Also you might want to read back ITT a little bit, everything that was being said there is still up to date AFAIK.
Hi , anyone playing in Pokerstars Vietnam ?
1. How stable is connection there?
2. Do you often experience any other problems when playing there?
Anyone in Da Nang at the moment?
Trying to find some live games but a lot of the spots I used to hit seem to have closed since I was last here 1.5 years ago.
Let me know if you're in the area and down to grab a beer, or if you know which rooms are actually still operating. Cheers!

I was there ~2 months ago. Apart from Crown Casino (2/5 NL) with a pretty high rake (think it's capped at 8BB irc) that's legal and licensed to run, I would highly recommend you not to play at other clubs. I previously played at this place called LPT, and they were raided the next day. Not sure what happened to the players - I imagine they were fined -, but the owners appeared on the news.
I believe the tournament scene in Da Nang is non-existent too, but it's very happening in Hanoi.
