Anthony Martino Poker Vlog - Mostly PLO Cash Game Content
Hey all, just went through a rebrand of my channel and wanted to create a thread to share updates. I try to put out content every week and it's mostly PLO cash games, with rare instances of tournament action or games outside of PLO
My most recent vlog just went up today:

Broken YouTube LinkI haven't played a ton of NLH so it's hard for me to compare something I don't have a lot of experience with.
I will say "it depends".
There are good and bad games in various places throughout the country. Smart poker room operators will set protections in place for their games to prevent them from playing too large (i.e. capped buyins and no or limited straddles permitted)
The problem I've encountered here in Austin is that the PLO games are 1/2 with a $5 bring-in, but then unlimited straddles from UTG all the way to the button (10/20/40/80/160/320) and match the stack (initial buyins are 200-1k)
So the guys with deep pockets from 5/10/25 come into the 1/2/5 game and jack it way up, making it play like a shallow-stacked 40/80 game.
They can afford the ridiculous variance of flipping for stacks preflop 6-ways over and over and over. Sure, you may win some battles, but it's impossible to win the war without extremely deep pockets.
In addition, this has attracted an influx of soulless Euros and Aussies who are extremely competent players that lack social skills.
The rooms also focus their marketing efforts too heavily towards the grinder crowd, rather than fun local recs. With 2+ million people in the Greater Austin metro, and with poker here for over a decade now, the vast majority of people don't even know it exists, because the rooms advertise outside of Austin instead of effectively locally.
This results in games with less of a fun vibe and too many misregs, and the game structures make it near impossible for new players to try and learn PLO because they get chewed up and spat out way too quickly.
I'm actually considering a move towards Dallas to play at TCH Las Colinas, as their 2/2 and 2/5 PLO games are capped buyins with only a UTG straddle permitted.

Oof, I stopped updating here cause I didn't get much traction. As far as youtube goes, a lot of poker vloggers in general have scaled back on longform content. Youtube reduced the number of recommended longform videos on peoples homepages, instead favoring short-form content instead.
So we all started noticing significant declines in views for our longform videos. Mine in the past would get 2-3K but then started only getting 500-1K. On top of that, because I've promoted stuff like Club GG, Youtube will age-restrict my content and just doesn't share it as wide as it used to.
I recently launched a brand new channel called Golden Voice Gaming. My hope is that without the online poker dragging it down, and having the ability to not be pigeonholed into PLO or poker, but also allow me to pivot into video games, casino games, board games, etc. I can reach a wider audience.
On top of that, I'm trying to do challenges the masses can relate to. Can I win enough to pay my rent, etc. The first vlog I'm trying to win enough to upgrade the graphics card in my PC. My hope is that this not only reaches poker fans, but also PC gamers who might not normally watch a poker vlog, but will because of the graphics card angle. There's synergies with PC gaming and poker I hope to take advantage of.
