I thought we might like to have a Steam offers catch-all thread, and maybe even any general discussion about the service
Any game that describes itself as Dark Souls-like is a insta-nope from me. I just suck at those games. I think my reflexes are just falling apart as I get older.
I'm currently playing GrandBlue Fantasy: Relink, which is good fun. What's depressing is, you play in a team of four, and my three AI teammates seem to clear maps/bosses faster if I just alt+tab out and post here, rather than actually get involved trying to help!
We share the experience, so I just go back every 5 minutes and reset the map while I'm watching YouTube.
They have a demo and it's also 50% off at the moment.
I'm loving it. Have had rage quit many times due to the totally rigged dice (not a game for poker's rogged people)! Only to come back a few minutes later.
It's definitely, sadly, highlighted how bad my brain has got that I keep ****** up just using multiple numbers of 1-6.

Yeah I think there's a dopamine hit associated with the constant dice chucking and manipulation that happens. For as many hours as I have in the game, I'm not that good at it. I should probably have gotten farther than descent level 6 by now, but that's where I'm stuck.
I'm terrible. Just really clicking buttons, and getting annoyed. I know there's some fun strategizes late, but but FU. I'm off for walk
This is when you are having fun. This isn't even one of my stronger builds, but I enjoyed doing 200+ damage with a single 2.
Zachtronics isn't Zachtronics anymore, but a new Zachtronics game came out anyway - it's kinda fun:

Like if it was called “Jesus” or “Jesus Christ” it would at least have a chance. Or better, if it was “Jesus Simulator” you would assume it has some early access jank value.
if anyone likes soulslikes, Wuchang that just released is an absolute must-play. It's basically a Dark Souls 1 experience, but with modern (and very fun) combat
I hope Silksong is accessible to noobs like me. It looks fun, but I suck at Metroidvanias. I lasted 15 minutes in Animal Well....

Did you play Hollow Knight? If not, you may want to give that a try first since Silksong is a sequel and is going to be fairly similar.
Animal Well is a different game even though it still falls under the MV genre. It was more about puzzle solving and exploration.
The challenges in HN and I'm assuming SS are somewhat platform based and combat related. I don't recall ever really feeling lost when exploring in HN, but I definitely got frustrated at times during some of the boss fights. Even resorting to looking up strategies on YouTube for a few of them.
total war 3 kingdoms is free today only on epic - so much for the idea of a productive january for me

It's a bit fun, but not a complete game yet. What it mostly lacks is purpose.
