How much of the original allegations are actually now denied? Is it not possible that the only thing that has changed is that a written "list" doesn't exist? I haven't followed the details, but it seems to me thar Epstein thought himself mainly as a glorified Hugh Hefner except he took the strategy too far. He realized that there are many rich, powerful famous men, who, because of their homeliness or awkwardness find themselves failing in the one area that regular guys don't. Epstein realized that if he could provide a way for guys like that to rationalize that pretty young girls actually liked them and that they weren't just indirectly using a desperate girl engaging in prostitution. he would have some of these men in his pocket in one way or the other. He wouldn't need a written list or specific blackmail demands to get what he wanted. He got greedy by sometimes rescuing/recruiting girls of illegal age because some of these guys apparently liked them. But he never turned the scheme that got him rich and powerful himself, into an official business with written records. He didn't need to do that to accomplish his goals or, later on to kill himself (maybe due to threats to his family if he didn't).
If the above theory doesn't align with the facts (especially if you add the fact that Pam Bondi is lazy and perhaps dishonest) it can be ignored. But if the theory is reasonable, it should probably be the one you go with since the alternatives theories require believing some terrible things about this country.

There are highly suspicious individuals walking in and out during that tape. The fact that the area showing Epsteins cell is not on camera is highly suspicous. Notice how the talking point now is focused on just Epstein being the bad guy here. "He is a creep" "He downloaded child porn". In earlier interviews Bondi said she saw videos of Epstein with children. Now she says the videos were downloaded images from elsewhere.

Epstein had an image of extreme status with wealth, elite connections, private jets, rare access and privilege. High-status and status-seeking individuals were drawn to him not just for what he had, but because proximity to him conferred status on them, like chimps wanting to be around the alpha. Once they were in, silence didn’t require threats, merely the fear of being ostracized from that power by losing access, privilege, or being publicly exposed, etc, ie losing their status.
