Facing gross flop xr near bubble
5 euro unlimited rebuy + add-on 6-max, blinds increase every 6 minutes.
11 players left, 8 ITM. Hero is chip leader and flop xr by the second biggest stack in the tourney.
The xr jammer is a whopper based on their previous post flop action, which was mostly on the passive side with frequent min betting OOP and IP on silly boards with their theoretical range.
I considered folding the flop bc I'm not under huge pressure of having to double up and would still have enough to keep a bubble bully stack after folding. I'm I completely crazy thinking in hindsight this may have been an unnecessary call? The pool is super soft which I think gives some more merit to not flipping here?

A typical c/r size for me would be around 7 bb's here. Which would be roughly 20% effective stack. Its not a jam spot with a big hand like a set or two pair. So a jam here typically means Villain has a draw and probably a double draw (either a pair and a flush or straight draw or a straight draw or gutter and a flush draw). So you could easily be more or less flipping here.
I just like the call. Because it means if we win we are going very deep. We also have BDFD nuts. I've made a call like this and the guy had top pair (but a bit shorter stack). Only once in all the time I have been playing has somebody done this with a set (and yes I called)
I once folded a very small flush on a monotone flop when I bet and got jammed on. He ended up showing me a nut flush draw semi bluff. So lesson learned...
Agree with Mr. Rick. But ... the fact we have Ad is concerning. This blocks many of V's best drawing hands that would make this move. So I'd expect to see 2 pair a lot here.

Yeah they had KT here, which I think i s a massive blunder XR jam on the flop. But still good in a way that I did puke a little bit here and cry called. There are players against whom I would have folded
ChipEV certainly a pretty easy call, but chips don't pay bills lol
