Since it’s no longer on ESPN there might be some section of population that doesn’t even know the WSOP still exists. It will be on all morning talk shows and main stream news. For past several years it might have gotten zero coverage
Yeah I would say that for example the BBC would never put the WSOP as a headline in their normie news coverage, but if a woman won it for the first time they would cover it for sure. Could only help numbers overall.
What would the actual, literal, impact of Leo making the final table? Like I'm all for it, I was all for Foxen getting there last year, but people talk about it like it'll have a huge impact on poker.The main probably has like 400/10, 000 women?Let's say Leo comes in 4th place, next year there's maybe 600?Maybe 2 more women a week show up at your local casino a week to play 1/3

She can easily make a lot in endorsement money just by "making it to FT" then playing risky and going out earlier

Nah imo she needs to win. She would just be the second female to make final table. No one cares about poker these days, to get on Wheaties box has to come in 1st.

Not a great read there by Dunaway on Hallaert's flush. Dunaway has obviously been sick all day and at this point of the night is probably sick and tired of being in that chair.

LOL was about to post that. Imagine 3-4 women showing up and being told they can’t play at the same table. If anything, more guys will show up thinking they’re might be more women there.
She’s already on Team Winamax, probably already gets some of that. She’s wearing it.
But she could possibly get mainstream endorsements in Spain. But with an outright win, 2nd won’t quite do it as still playing second fiddle to a man.
I have a sort of irrational dislike for the Grinder, but man, gotta respect the gamble, he's the only player in a long time willing to make crazy plays this deep. I just wonder why he insist on his strategy of making those tiny 3bets in position, seems to be biting him in the ass consistently.
Grinder, Kenny and Margets would make for a great FT, hopefully they can all get there.

What a final table this is shaping up to be with the grinder and a female. Surely this will bring the next big poker boom reminiscent of 2003!
In all seriousness, where are we ranking the grinder amongst tournament players after this main event run? Is he #1 all time? Does he need to win to become #1 ? Is there no way he can pass hellmuth and his 17 bracelets? Grinder has 2 WSOP main event final tables, 7 bracelets, 4 PPC wins, one of the best to ever play WPT events back in the day…
