2025 World Series of Poker May 27th - July 16th
Spot on here. Thank you for this post. It needs to be said. They have become like every other gigantic corporate entity in America: financially rape the customer for every possible penny, and then financially rape some more to create an addiction to the product for more pennies. I was on the fence about attending WSOP 2025. But with your post, I have decided officially against
You joined 2+2 in 2015, by that time the WSOP was gone from Binions and Spring time for almost 11 years. Its now since been 21 years since the things Toupee Jay was Pepperidge Farm's posting about. The reason its a gigantic corporate entity is because the last company who ran it almost ****ing bankrupted it. You were either never going or too stupid to see what the last 20 years was. If you like poker tournaments its the biggest poker festival of all and if you play games other then Hold'em its your only chance to play big fields of that format.
GTFO out of here with this OH ITS TOO CORPORATE when it was just as bad 10-15-20 years ago, its the only reason it still exists.
1500 PLO DBBP (Bomb Pot) Tourney, Jun 6th:
so, does anybody have any definite info on what the structure will be? (meaning, all BP, or only one per orbit)
1. there's still different structure sheets out there
2. just talked to a floor supervisor while playing the 600 PLO, he had no idea, even tried to look up structure himself on his ipad, couldn't find any
i'll play either way, but it kinda would be nice to know before the start what it's gonna be ...

You can provide a premier product for good value while prizing the customer. I don't know what you're really trying to say other than you either run a business into the ground or financially pillage and rape for every possible penny, which is a false dilemma.
All we're saying is if the WSOP took into account some of the complaints --- like free (or reduced rate) parking, cheaper hotel rates, a better and more Series-complete website experience, no rake hiking without justification, and better food options for players staying sometimes days/weeks/months --- then this would make it a truly premier product that prizes the customer.
Now I'll give you another chance to address those problems. No rambling, incoherent rants about bankrupting businesses.
I'm not a quitter, but once again I vote with my wallet, always have. I know going in that I am being gouged in every way possible by being a participant at the WSOP. There are no special accommodations made for players traveling great distances at great expense to participate. In fact the opposite could be said. The Horseshoe/Paris goes out of their way to make this a bad expe
Yes you are a quitter. Majority of players love new location and record number of participants are an evidence.
QUESTION? Where do we see results of completed WSOP events? I can't find them on either Pokernews or WSOP site.
Nevermind -figured it out on Pokernews site.
One thing I miss about the old WSOP results site is that it would display US players by home state. The app and Poker News seems to just display βUnited States.β Am I missing this somewhere? Itβs made it substantially more difficult for me to try to track/sweat players from my home markets.

What gives? For me, the app shows a flag to the left of the name, just like the legacy WSOP website. And the PokerNews website has a little flag on top of their profile pic.
EDIT: Oh never mind, you mentioned state. My bad. Yeah, that's something I liked looking at, too.
I was under the impression that any employees, regardless of position, in the casino industr, can not enter tournaments, for obvious reason. Maybe, I mis-understand your post.
Your impression is that it was true and also obvious that, say, a blackjack dealer at Aria, would be barred from entering a poker tournament in any casino in the world??How could that be either true or obv
Iβm a sportsbook supervisor and can do anything in the casino I work at besides bet sports. I also canβt bet sports at any of our sister properties. But BJ, slots, poker are no issue at all

Every handβs a bomb pot.
Benny Glaser is the true example of why poker is a game of skill.
He’ll end up being the first player to hit 10 bracelets before making the HOF
Every handβs a bomb pot.
Yep, saw that structure sheet too.
When you look at the tourney in the wsop app though, it still says SB/BB etc ..
I guess we will see shortly ;-)
Hes been playing the WSOP for 10 years and has 7 bracelets. They appear to mostly be in mixed games/split pot no? While that's a much easier path to get bracelets, let's see when and if variance smacks him a bit.
But, either way what he's done is no doubt impressive.

.
The guy is an absolute role model, no scandals, no nothing, and not at all any βsuperstar mannersβ β¦ just plays the game and crushes constantly.
No idea why you find even anything negative to say here
It’s going … I’m in … and it’s all BP
Let’s effing go!!!
Everyone needs to lower their expectations for the WSOP. If you want to professionally run tournaments there are other options like WPT or any random tournament at your local casino. The dealers are never going to get better and the floors are never going to care more.
More like the true example of why being a troll trumps engaged, sincere discourse.
Played with Benny a lot during summer of 2014. While he never played bad iirc he took his lumps, always lost in 20/40 mix and whatever $1500 events he played. So he hung in there, maybe righted ship on a few things, and obviously tide turned
Always perfect gent and can’t imagine anyone has anything bad to say about his game. It’s consistent and sustained over a decade. Not a one year Bin Weng heater
Michael Lavin just won the $1,500 NL Holdem shootout tournament for $267k, but the real reward was that he earned a $1,000,000 bonus from clubwpt gold. He got lucky and won every all in at the final table. Pretty sick

im a losing .2nl player
but it really really seems over the last 10 years that tourneys are just so much ****ing easier than cash.
Here we are a week and some change into WSOP 2025, and on a busy Friday there are almost the same amount of low/midstakes PLO in town as there is low/midstakes NLHE. The change is happening slowly but it seems NLHE will be replaced as the favorite game on the cash side.
