Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Is it still possible to get Diamond in a Day?

I have read about it in the past, just curious.

Also amazing was the lack of a fee on the part of the WSOP. I don’t know the ins and outs, but I imagine the WSOP must have eaten the fee, which was probably something on the order of 1-2% per entry.

This is probably why the cc companies don't consider it a cash advance. As long as someone is paying the merchant fee, they don't care.

CC companies would make a ton more money by treating this as a cash advance over a purchase. So I don’t see why they would be charitable. On the other hand, I have a hard time believing the WSOP is somehow “fooling” them.
The transactions came from a merchant named “NSUS Limited” which is essentially GG and clearly involved with gaming. So there doesn’t appear to be anything shady going on.

If I had to guess, and with zero direct knowledge or insight, I’d say this apparent leniency when it comes to electronic transactions has to do with the change in US administrations and the folks in charge not really having their ducks in a row yet. If you look at what was happening with sports betting apps and CC transactions over the last year or so, one would not think things would have turned out the way they did for the WSOP. But as we have seen, even as recently as today with the first ever crypto bills being signed, there is a push for cheaper and more convenient electronic movement of money. I imagine, so long as the government is able to keep tabs on these transactions so they always get their cut, things may become just as simple as they were at the WSOP this year. But until such time as we see this become the norm and not just a fortunate one off, I won’t hold my breath.

CCs have been allowed at WSOP for at least the past 5 years and it was always coded as a purchase before. They just passed the merchant fee to the consumer (3%) before this year.

Do hope it keeps up though. Being able to buy in CC without fees was great.

I don't know why anyone would think of it as a cash advance anyway. It's not. Do they hand you cash then you buy in with it? No.

Does anyone know how to get the app hotel rates when you've stayed at a (Vegas) Caesar's property within the past couple days? It won't let me book on the app, and in the past I could call the hotel and get a similar rate, but now the cheapest they can do is about 3x the app rate. I also used to get the cheap rates online on 3rd party websites, but now they're telling me if I do that I need to pay the resort fee even though I'm Diamond+. Thanks

Every time I've called, they've said they can only give me the rate that shows up on their computer even though I can pull up lower rates.

This could be a decent option for some people on here.
If you put $50k on the credit card in a year, you get a bonus 15k tier credits (which gets you Diamond) and $150 in reward credits (which compensates the annual fee), among a few other benefits.
Could be particular good for WSOP players now that you can put WSOP tournament buy-ins on a credit card.

Can anyone confirm that they were able to use their Caesars Rewards credit card for 2025 WSOP buy ins, and if so, were you charged foreign transaction fees?

It helped offset the rake nicely and definitely got me to play several tournaments I would not have otherwise.

I have the Caesars Rewards credit card. I have already earned my 5000 tier credits this year.

A few weeks ago I got a text from them asking if a $0.99 charge was legitimate or fraudulent. I replied it was fraudulent because it was.

To their credit they immediately closed my account and said they would send a new credit card. A few days later a new CC showed up. It was an all black Signature card. I activated it and have used it since.

Great.

Yesterday I got around to reading the fine print on the paperwork that came with the card. It says that with $5000 in spending, it earns 2500 in tier credits. This would be down from the 5000 in tier credits i used to earn yearly.

Is this just the new card (i.e. would I have continued to earn 5000 TCs if my card had not been replaced)? Has anyone else seen this?

If only 2500 TCs are the new norm, this is a serious downgrade.

I've read on other Vegas forums that this is a change across the board for all CZR CC's.

Check to see if you received their new 'Prestige' card, it has a $149 annual fee as well as the lower tier credit earning for this year.

The no fee (classic) card still earns 5k tier credits for $5k spend but 2025 is the last year for that. In 2026 it also drops to 2500 tier credits for the same $5k spend.

The biggest difference (besides the fee) is the Prestige card allows you to earn additional tier credits by spending more, including being able to obtain diamond status from spending alone. Classic card is limited to just the 2500 credits.

You can get more info from Caesars, but Nerd Wallet has a pretty good write-up that goes over all the changes.

I was told by my one of my hosts (outside the vegas area) that he would no longer be able to comp me anything until I ran my point balance down. At the time I had about $4500. It isn't hard to run the balance down, depending on where I am, I can run off $500 to $1000 a day for free video poker play. Of course they charge 2-1 so it takes 200,000 points to get $1000 free play. Often times when I was staying there would be an additional room credit of say $200 food, $200 spa credit...but that will not continue. I'm not sure why Ceasars would care, it seems to benefit them that I didn't use the points, if I were to die suddenly the points/credit would die with me.

If you're in a state with the sports betting caesars app you get 1:1 using Rcs to place bets.Just betting randomly you'll lost 5 percent to juice but you can find break even stuff to bet with other sites and clear the RCs out that way for full value.

Thanks for the info.
A couple weeks ago I took $500 out in my California casino. it cost me 100,000 points, and I ran it through the ultimate X poker once and wound up with $280. So getting $280 of $1000 didn't make me feel good. If I can get the bets at 1-1 when I hit vegas in September I'm going to run my balance to near zero. I suppose I can pick heavy favorites raising my chances of victory and accept small win payouts, since the goal is mainly to run down the point balance.

When you win with RCs does it give you back RCs for the bet portion and cash for the winnings? Or all cash?

I think you can burn RC's 1 for 1 on hotel charges. Since I almost always have some charges, either room or food, I use mine there. If you're full RFB, you can buy trinkets at the gift shop, maybe?

Okay, the 10x is on, my trip to Vegas is imminent. The greatest value I got from Diamond is not having to stand in those effing ridiculous lines at WSOP, and jumping to the top of lists. But if I can figure out a method with a smart phone/android emulator, that's no longer an issue, right? You can register right from the app with no lines involved?

So the main remaining benefits are resort fees and parking, which add up to $80 a day. Ridiculous, I know, that's more than I'm used to paying for the room. But I'm visiting Vegas less and less, and even if I go for 20 days, that's $1600. Believe it or not, I spent more than that making Diamond last year. I feel like I'm being an idiot chasing Diamond every year...

Did WSOP buy ins not get you close?

Don’t think wsop events gives you much, had a buddy from Canada play a full schedule including the main and barely made platinum for free parking.

My experience here is far different.

I made diamond (~16k tier credits total) this past WSOP from playing a full summer ($130k in total buy ins including seven 10ks including the main event) so I guess it might depend on that we are defining as a "full schedule" perhaps?

Yeah his schedule was mostly 1.5ks and under plus the main. So maybe 40-50k in buy ins plus other properties like Wynn which obv don’t count.
40-50k in buy ins is a lot just to get free parking imo lol

I have a decent stash socked away for WSOP 2026, but it ain't 130 large, lol.

You’re not alone. The folks running Vegas are making a mess of things.

I think you can only use them for up to -300.
I mean really just blind betting NFL and college spreads and over unders you should only lose 5 percent to juice over enough of a sample size.

Definitely way better than redeeming them for half face value on machines.

I had to go back in my bet history for an example, but found that when you use Reward Credits for placing a wager, it does give you back the RC in Cash value. Here I bet 7,000 RC at +150 odds. Win equated to $105, and was paid out $175. And can see the difference from the bet below it where I wagered Cash. 2+2 doesn't seem to like the size of the image, so you'll probably have to click the bar above the image to see the wagers on the right side.
