[Phenom Poker] Official Thread
Welcome to the official thread for Phenom Poker! My name is Michael Dunlap and I am part of the Phenom team, focusing on
Hey all, just to clear this up.
Registration has NOT been opened for the $25k freeroll on Sunday, July 6th. There will be an announcement in the coming days about when registration will open, but I can tell you the spots will NOT be auto-filled by the previous 2500.
The current plan is that current players silver tier and above will get first chance, then a second period will allow for open registration. We listened to the players, who rightfully mentioned it was unfair for them to be excluded.
Side note, the bonus code INTHEMONEY has been extended. This is a reload bonus, 100% up to 2000 USDT. If you're a new player, use https://play.phenompoker.com/register?r=... to get 150% up to 3000 USDT.
Healthy mix of action in the room this afternoon. With the freeroll this weekend, no better time to signup!

Tournaments should auto open when they begin, you should not have to click take seat in order to sit down.

If you're so unhappy with the site you could go play somewhere else or stay there and make constructive criticism on the forum about what you'd like to be different. The 2 options would be profitable for both parts. Cheers.
Good morning, all!
Just a heads up that the regular MTT schedule has begun rolling out. This is just the beginning, of course. Much more to come, including SNG.

This site is allergic to nl holdem or plo traffic sadly
I played on Phenom for a week, and Iβm honestly surprised they launched it in such an unfinished state. There are countless bugs that make the platform feel unreliable and frustrating to use. At this point, it feels like youβre paying money to be a beta tester. The only upside is that you play with many Americans.
Phenom in a nutshell looked like this for me. (I could not buy in again after losing my inital buyin)

You are owner of the site now, maybe 2 hours and you will be invited in discord to work for free like beta tester.

There was an update to the polygon network yesterday. This is the crypto platform that Phenom runs on. Apparently, there has not been an update to it in 5 years... It will be a good thing for Phenom and any other platforms that use it.
Unfortunately, it slowed some things down during the update, and transactions were slow or failed.
It's true, I have had these issues you report, but for the most part, it's been pretty solid as of late, aside from this big Polygon upgrade. I have been playing nearly every day since launch and really enjoy the site.
It's tech that none of the other big sites have, its your wallet, Phenom can't touch it. They only facilitate the smart contract between tables and tournaments for your money to flow to and from.
If you run into these issues, the support team is really helpful too.
Sorry you had a bad experience, but I assure anyone reading this it's really not all that bad.

Whats the terms to clear the deposit bonus?
Solid Rollout of Mtt's so far with basically zero traffic.
Cash games continue to grow, looks like tournament players waiting on guarantees.
Unfortunately I have to agree here
I am not a Cashgame Player by any means and still I deposited some bucks to try Out the Site - I liked it, but again, Cash is Not my Game
Then the 25k freeroll came, I won some Money, and was totally willing to play that on Phenom, expecting a proper MTT Schedule will come after the 25k freeroll. Playing some $2, $5 or whatever Lowstakes MTTs with it.
But none of that happened unfortunately - why would I play any MTT there, when it's so tough to fit in my grid of other sites anyways (Browser, No real App, etc) especially with no guaranteed prizepools? Someone on last Page said "feels like Beta tester you have to pay for", unfortunately this is my thinking too. Since my freeroll win I have since maybe played 20 Hands of cashgame, and now took off every $ Off of the site. On a site like Coinpoker atleast I use the funds and not have it Just sitting because there are No games for me
Still hope the best for the site, it has Potential, but to me the planning seems like a huge mess

The team is fixing some things before they release a full tournament schedule.
The tournaments running right now are ya kind of testing, but they still run with a handful of players.
I expect there will be plenty running daily with guarantees once they iron out a few things.
With how complicated the deposit methods are the site will never be a high traffic site anyways. No rec is going to through all the steps it takes. 0 chance. The site is ran by some really dumb people lol
Not to mention they have issues with the contacts getting stuck and supper having to manually push it through. Good luck explaining to recs why there balance is missing. I have been voicing my concern regarding this since launch and it falls on deaf ears. This single thing will be the death of the site.
I hate some things on this platform, but cashouts are really momentally.
This is good!
Are the Cashings (IN-OUT) instant as on other cryptosites? Or is there some hours we need to wait when cashing out? (How about large amounts 5k$+)

Yes, I really want to like Phenom, they offer the games I enjoy playing but god damn, offering a product this unfinished/fundamentally flawed is quite... something.
PHNM price is held up by a few Phenom pros / prop players playing highstakes but once that fades, and the hype with it, I foresee another Run it Once on the horizon.
You just can't offer this and expect to last. Maybe I'll be proven wrong.

Your criticism of any transactional issues is fair, but it's not nearly as frequent as it seems. I wish the team would publish some kind of stat to show how rare it actually is, and how it's been improving since Day 1.
As for the PHNM price being held up, sure, a single big game is going to drive revenues more than a single small game, but anyone who's been watching can see games are growing at all stakes.
I am sorry, but Day 1 has been many many moons ago and the acceptable number of transactional issue is ZERO on that day!
Just a few days ago, Polygon had issues. I recorded my balance at the end of the day as I usually do and the next day, it was almost $800 less. No message, no explanation, nothing. I had to go through the transaction list myself to figure out what happened.
A day later, I rebuy at the table, lose my stack before it is processed, leave the table and the rebuy is not refunded. This does not show up in transactions and it was NOT going to be resolved by the contract, it did not turn up for multiple hours until support finally refunded it manually.
No one can be sure their balance is correct at any time. That's critical failure, not subject to "improvement". If it was licensed, this would be reason for shutdown. The last time I saw this happen was during the Full Tilt Poker days. I can't allow PR answers to muddy this point down.

Strange that you wouldn't notice your account was $800 heavy before it was credited back, but FWIW I agree that any correction should come with a message of some sort.
As for your frustrations Mr. Rage, we've been listening as long as you've been talking, all the way back to Day 1ish. You have valid points but you seem to ignore the fact that this is revolutionary, new territory that comes with bumps in the road. It is objectively improving week over week and while we'd all like it to be perfect, its not yet. That's not a reason to not be live for us but if its a deal breaker for you, we get it.
The support here is better than any poker site you've ever seen. Are there issues? Yes. Should you have to monitor your balance? No, but it is what it is right now. Most of us keep an eye and if there's an issue we reach out to support and get help within a remarkably short time.
Incidentally, I didn't notice because I rage quit that day because **** didn't work and went to the casino instead which you have to admit is kinda funny in context.
Revolutionary in what way? USDT? Coin does it, better. Mixed games? King's Clubs had it. PHNM? I guess, but it's a just form of rakeback after all that heavily skews towards launch player that hodl, for normal and new players reaching the same percent as GG or Coin is virtually impossible.
Support? GG/Nat8 is better, so was PokerStars back in the day. Also, ideally you don't want support to have to be good.
I think that's basically the problem, trying to create hype only works when it really is revolutionary. Otherwise you will get threads like this where yes, people want you to succeed - I do, love mixed games -, but the shiny paint starts chipping off the walls.
Poly USDT contracts were a mistake, are a mistake, will be a mistake. If the team started admitting that, not least to themselves, I would be more optimistic about the future.
