NL10 - Overpair in 4bet pot on Monoboard

Hi mates,

I was facing this raise on the flop in this 4bet pot on a monoboard and I felt like my fold was a bit nitty. I was deciding on the flop that I would not be willing to call a jam on the turn on a non-diamond card which in hindsight I think was a bad thought process on my end. Villain is a 22/18 reg.

What do you guys think is his range here when he raises? I was thinking:
- A high FD
- Overpairs with a diamond
- Sets

Thanks for your feedback!

Ya too nitty to fold. Lot of AK combos with a diamond. TT is the only realistic set. He might rarely have a flush too already. I don't really like your 4bet either pre. Would rather call.

Your repping a strong range JJ+ when you bet flop. You could have A with a diamond here. Why would Villian raise with AK with a diamond I wouldn't. You are super deep and villian is willing to play for it all and you could be drawing dead with made flushes or TT. Fold.

Call flop imo. A lot of incentive for AK with one d to rip it in and then you flip, which is profitable for you given the dead money in the pot already. No made flushes take that Villain line imo.

Edit: size up your 4b a little bit pre I think

What are you basing this off of?

People tend to play so that they just realize their EQ easily and quickly here. It's easier to do than just keep on playing chess on later streets and move on. If I'm IP I'd be more than happy to just rip it in against the cbet with AK with a d especially if I think an overpair without a d folds, it's virtually never going to be a massive mistake and makes life more simple with at most minimal EV loss.

Your 4bet was way too small as deep as you are, which means vilain will have morespecukative holdings and fewer very nutted hands (AA). Since very few of those hands are offsuit, most of his range that connects will be broadway flushes, ATs, 45s to JTs, 88-QQ with a diamond, sets of TT, maybe sets of 77, and AK with a diamond. The suited connectors are expected to be under 3betted at 10nl. Of those, the hands that make the most sense for a small raise are in order: sets, flushes, AKdx, open ended straight draws. IP is expected to be passive more often than not with non made hands.

You have no good runout for your hand. You have more offsuit Ax and Kx as a % of your range. This is a pure GTO fold against balanced range. Population is underbluffing these spots. If vilain is spewing off, he will get you off a bigger pot later.
