I meant to get into a fast $5 contest I think German Shepard and accidentally entered a $75 slow Bulldog. Obviously I have to win this now. I have pick 5 and called my shot with CMC. I took Tyreek with my second pick. I'm two picks away in round 3. The players left on the board are McBride, Wilson, Adams, Allen. Right now I have it cued in this order. 1) McBride...I like starti

I think I'd rank it Allen > Wilson = Adams > McBride. Elite TE generally doesn't do as well in a small field contest. McBride could certainly separate and help you advance. But I'd much rather have the elite QB than elite TE.

Did my first 5 drafts of 2025:

Looking at my drafts so far what players should I be avoiding and what players should I be adding more I have been reading about all the rookies this year seems like a strong class.

Ponmeranian teams on UD

Would you mind using the spoiler feature when you post team images? Especially if posting multiples in the same post. It makes the post easier to read.

Team 1 - It looks good. I'm not sure how much volume you're planning to put in, but you probably want to push Burrow to the 6/7 at this point in the summer. But if you're only planning to fire a handful of teams, pulling him up to the 4/5 is fine. My two critiques would be adding Iosivas with Tee/Chase isn't optimal, imo. And I don't think Muth is a good enough TE2.

Team 2 - My only complaint is single TE, but there are drafters who like the strategy.

Team 3 - Probably not strong enough at RB, but it can work if you get some early season run good with injuries. You don't need 8 WRs when you take 5 in the first 6 rounds. You probably should have stopped at 6 after Bateman and allocated Tutu/Austin elsewhere.

Team 4 - This was the team to draft Iosivas. Burrow with Brown is fine, but then you want to attack Gesicki, Iosivas, and Burton in the late rounds, hoping for Tee/Chase injuries. I'd also have probably taken Ray-Ray over Slayton to have a pass catcher with Penix, but he's probably fine with only Bijan. The market hasn't seemed to care, but with this Mooney injury, I think Ray-Ray deserves a slight boost. London probably does too. However, the top 15-20 players are so strong, it's hard to find room to move up. But they have complete trash behind the top 3 WRs, hence the Chark signing, who is also trash.

Like newguy, I also don't play WW, so no idea on those teams. But I've seen some funky teams posted on X for that contest.

Let's say there's a player being drafted within the first 3 rounds (UD) whose ceiling in Week 17 could very well be 15-16 points.

Is that enough given the price?

Would you still draft him?

If not, what would his advance rate need to be for you to consider drafting him?

The guy before me just took McBride so I'm taking Allen. Is there any reason to wait to make the pick? It seems most of these guys have taken pretty close to the full amount of time. I suppose some fluky news could come out in the next ten hours.

Probably not, but I can’t imagine a player in the t3 rds having an actual ceiling of 16pts since 2tds is 12 pts and all the players in the t3 rds are theoretically capable of getting 2tds (except for maybe McBride jk, kinda)

I think I’d take him at a 30-35% advance rate. 15-16 isn't a great w17 score, but it’s very usable. Plenty of opportunity to fill in the ceiling elsewhere.

But this scenario has a lot of nuance.

Na, most of them are probably using the clock for other reasons like life stuff or high slow draft volume.

So yeah, this player could definitely have a ceiling higher than 16 points, but I'm basing it off a 6 game sample.

That player, of course, is Garret Wilson.

In the 6 games he's faced the Pats

11.8
13.8
7.3
4.4
14.5
2.2

If it's going to be more of the same against them, do I really want to have more than 4%-6% at his current price?

I don’t really draft much Wilson, but that’s because I think he’s 1rd+ too expensive, not bc of the concern vs the pats

I’ve been mostly staying away from rd3 WRs

Tee - 11%
MHJ - 6%
Wilson - 2%
JSN - 5%
Adams - 11%
Mclaurin - 3%

I was drafting Rice and Reek (mostly Rice) when they were there and I have a decent amount of Evans (11%) at the turn

Had to check my RD3 WRs. Looks like I'm in about the same boat.

Tee - 7%
MHJ - 7%
Wilson - 7%
Adams - 6%
JSN - 11%
Terry - 8%

I’m overall light on that group too, mostly ranging 5-8%. I think Davante is my highest at 10%, which I’ve been bringing down with this Stafford back situation.

The RBs, McBride, and elite QBs all feel like better picks, especially with what we have in 4-8 for WR.

Another $1 KOTD where I had some fun getting weird. Ended up with a 2-5-11-2.

Lamar, Shough

Gibbs, Bucky, Kamara, Pacheco, Corum

Zay, Olave, Kupp, Mooney, Shaheed, Hollywood, Palmer, Legette, Whittington, Royals, Savion

Andrews, Pitts

Funny I just brought up not liking Wilson, but I couldn't pass up on him at 35.

Kyler, Fields

Jeanty, Mondre, Spears, Blue, Benson, Allgeier, Giddens, Brooks

Nabers, Wilson, MHJ, Waddle, Flowers, Odunze, Dyami

Njoku, Gesicki, Kmet

Crazy MHJ price

Got hit by a wr avalanche on DK for the first time. Ended up just trying to correlate to recover. Not sure it worked

Fields, Stroud, Tlaw

Hampton, Breece, Henderson, Ekeler, marks, Monangai

Nico, Btjr, Hunter, Downs, Pittman, Keenan, Noel, Mccloud

Njoku Strange, Sanders

by jimmymcgill8

Crazy MHJ price

Yep. Odunze at 83 and Dyami at 227 as well.

I was in a draft earlier where a guy went 2-2-13-3

His 2 RBs?

Charb and Tracy. 30 and 40 picks ahead of ADP.

Thanks Tarheels!
I really appreciate your indepth analysis and response thank you bud!
I will also research on how to use the spoiler feature in the future to make my posts easier to digest

Also with the #1 are we always taking chase in UD or should we mix it up with gibs barkely and bj 20-30%? My goal is to do 100 drafts this season

Just to make it easier for you

No problem! Hopefully my analysis ends up being correct haha. I always take Chase at 1.01. He’s a very sticky 1.01 this season. I can count only a handful of times I’ve seen him not going 1.01.

Lmao, Chubb is already up to 146 on DK. That's going to be a nope from me.

I don’t understand how woody marks isn’t moving up much. I don’t even really like him but seems like a lock for pass catching role if Chubbs the starter, right . That roles at least somewhat appealing on dk

I don't care so much about him not throwing picks in camp. The key phrase for me is "long completions", which should hopefully mean less of the rinky-dink dump-offs from last season.

As for Mattison, it does seem like he's more likely to earn the RB3 spot over Gordon, and I wouldn't completely rule out RB2.

If he's RB3, I'll probably take up to 4%
If he's RB2, I want 12% - 14%

Drafters has a SF now. It's $10 with $25k to 1st. The biggest difference aside from no playoffs is 3 WRs instead of 2.

3 WR changes things a lot, especially for total points. I feel like in total points you want to bet on two QBs early then fill out the other positions before circling back.

So about those round 3 WRs.
