AKs in the BB: ##hiffed a draw on the turn.
1/3. Rainy Sunday. To preserve my roll, I hoped to buyin at 1/2 for 200 but stacks on these sad tables were around 120 p
Kind of obvious points, but maybe worth saying anyway:
1. V spewed off ~18bb preflop with trash. It's difficult for H to do anything postflop that's worse than that, and this line wasn't it.
2. Due to this one hand I'd 3bet V with everything I played.
3. V maybe bet/calls it off on the flop, but we are in front.
4. Part of long term winrate is simply losing less when they have the best hand at showdown.
i think you need to think things through at the table more before making decisions. specifically, thinking about what you would do with your range in certain spots, instead of your specific hand.
here, obviously your range can include overpairs on the flop. when you check the turn, your range probably doesnt include overpairs. thus, when you are capped, dont bluff the river.
also your play kinda reeks of scared money to me. if you're playing scared its better to not play imo.
Yeah, IMO you need to either x/r or bet/shove turn. You want to represent JJ+ and make it difficult for him to call down with one pair.
Grunch:
PRE - from the BB, I'd have made it at least $65, if not $75, when UTG limps and V opens to 15, when we'll be OOP, and would rather not also be multi-way with a high SPR.
FLOP - My default action when HU and OOP as the PFR is to range check. Even though this board is decent for our hand, it isn't that great for our 3B'ing range, and since it's low-low-low and two-tone, that's pretty dynamic, such that I'd expect V to stab at this a lot, and we can put in an obnoxiously large check-raise.
TURN - You have 270 left and the pot is 190. You have ace-high, two overs, and the NFD. V tank-called our flop c-bet in a 3BP on a board that probably doesn't smash his range either. I think we can jam here, for 1.5x pot, and feel pretty indifferent about him calling or folding.
If you push 270 into 190 on the turn with the nut flush draw and overs, you definitely prefer a fold, but it isn't a disaster if you get called. The overbet does put some pressure on. I prefer larger on the flop to set up a pot sized shove on the turn. I know most prefer checking the flop.
