A 3 hour craps session with a 5figure win is the stuff of dreams

Thank goodness! I have been desperate for a big-time trip report. This is the trip report season that feels like we are on a deserted desert island. Then suddenly ... an oasis. A beautiful, magnificent oasis. A leon VP trip report. I hope its not a mirage.

There is nothing more fun in a casino than a hot craps table.
Nothing!

Well, that's a good start for your team!

Awesome craps session. Looking forward to seeing what a masterclass with the Wynn security dogs is?

Those chip pictures are so pretty. I would be distracted by counting my stack the entire time lol

Leon I know your trip is already over but the trip report just started so hoping for a really good UX run! At least I can relive the Vegas excitement as I probably won’t be back to Vegas any time soon (left Malta, moved to another country).

i do some slot ap to kill time between making sports betswith some machines, the screen makes it abundantly clear that i'm nearing a large bonus long before it happensso it's not unusual to see someone take a seat next to or near me, pretend to be gambling but are just watching me and cheering me on, saying words of encouragement hoping it gets there etc etcand then when the fe

I'm a soft touch for that sort of crap. I got on a hot streak on $1 vp, building up about an $800 profit. This young guy sits next to me, saying how unlucky he'd been. Then he starts feeding his machine occasionally. I tell him I'm just on a lucky streak and he shouldn't be playing if he can't afford it. I tried my best to steer him off but eventually he dropped about $200, and then started in with how hungry he was. I don't think he was a scammer from the start because he lost the $200. He just wasn't very bright.

No, I didn't give him any money or buy him any food. BTDT on an earlier Vegas trip.

Craps Leon > VP Leon > Laon.

jk... keep crushing it Leon. Always appreciate the TRs.

It's science!

Rest of Day 1

D and I chill in the room for a bit and get ready for dinner. He has to make a business call and I'm ready so I head down to see if VP can start heating up.

I dump 2k. Note the "hold an ace and get back 4 5's" hand. So frustrating.

We head to Sinatra for dinner.

D and I split everything. Everything was a typically solid 8/10.

After dinner, I try more VP and it remains awful. I'm stuck 3k after dinner and am now up only 7k for the trip. We decide to play craps at the Wynn. The session is awful, just point-out-point-out and I dump 2k really quickly. I can see my amazing craps run from earlier evaporating before my eyes. I can't handle more VP tonight, if it remains cold (which there is zero doubt in my mind that it will be), I could end up giving back ALL of the amazing craps run. So we grab our chips from the Wynn and head over to Encore. I rebuy to bring myself up to 2.5k again (so I'm in this combined Wynn-Encore session for 4k).

This Encore portion starts off EXACTLY like the last one. D starts and has a decent roll. I go and also have an ok roll. More people join, everyone has at least a profitable roll. We've made back our loss from the Wynn and haven't lost a dime at craps yet! We keep going and there is a legitimately hot roll. Tons of 4s and 10s (again!). I'm playing pretty conservative, D is pressing really hard bc he's well up for the trip. When the smoke clears from that roll, I'm up 5k and he's up about 10k!!!

We're not done. We decide to keep playing. I step out of the box and bet 1000 even numbers- 200 on 4 and 10 and 300 on 6 and 8. The table REMAINS GOOD. Every roll continues to be at least break even. Then, we find another great roll. Again, D is pressing harder than I am and he's able to take full advantage.

Rack pic somewhere in that roll.

As an example of how hard he was pressing, I started with 200 on 10, and pressed to 250/300/600/1000/1500/2500/3500! New record for me! Meanwhile, D's got that little 'ol white chip out there, starting from a 50$ bet!

Table max on 10 baby! Mine's the piddly little 3500. Alas, he never got to use the 5k bet.

Rack pic when the smoke cleared.

We continue on and the next two rolls are garbage. It's time for bed- almost 1am, and we now have DEFINITELY had our best craps session ever!

In for 4, out for almost 30k!

D, meanwhile, cashed out for almost 40k!!LOLWHUT! A lifetime record for him by some margin. This is just the dream craps start we've always been looking for. All these years D and I have played together, we've never been this hot in such a short period of time. I wish I had pressed harder, but that's VP for you- taking away from me so I'm a little scared/trying to lock in money, meanwhile D can play with abandon bc he's so far up and he's able to better take advantage of the heat at craps.

Day 1 result- +33k

Day 2 coming soon...

holy christ

Wow. Nice one!

NICE who doesn't love a hot craps table?

Do you buy the 4 and 10 or just place them?

by johnzimbo m

Always buy, -EV is less. I wish the Wynn let one buy the 5 and 9 like the Bellagio does!

Let's go!

Incredible

Food looked vg too tbh

Probably a noob question but how does a craps session like this compare to VP in terms of your $$ gambled etc for comp purposes?

No idea. I couldn't tell you how much more money I'd cycle in during a "hot" VP session vs a craps session. Avg bet size, number of bets etc are just so different. I can say that overall you definitely earn less tier credits playing table games vs machines. Plus with craps I only really bet hard when things are going well. My base bet is designed for survival and definitely less than my base bet at VP. I might step up at VP if I'm running well but that's going to look like 200$/push vs 50 or 100.

Contrast that with a starting bet of 440, but at the end of all those hot runs I literally had 5-6k or more out on the table. It's an order of magnitude or more bigger, but of course I'm very rarely doing that. So all those factors make it basically impossible to figure.

I can tell you I got a decent amount of tier credits from our craps sessions tho πŸ˜€

It very much depends on that particular pit boss putting in an avg bet into a computer. If he's busy or lazy or doesn't like you, he might use just your starting bet level, which obviously is way low since you and most craps betters start there and press higher as the toll goes on. It's never a bad idea to ask as your coloring up what they have you down for avg bet. Or ask when you have a lot of action on the felt. Never hurts to throw some tips too.

Fantastic couple of craps sessions. Just dreamy.

Yes I always bet for the dealers on my first two rolls mostly for this reason. I'd much rather bet for them (player control, so I press up their bets and keep them working) than tip directly, it's way more fun and if you catch the right roll you can drop some serious money for the dealers. D and I have gotten black out for the dealers on multiple numbers starting with 22$ inside many, many times. This trip we got them to 300 on 6 and 8, never got to use them unfortunately. I'm sure we dropped them about 1k on one of the rolls.

One of our bucket list items is betting purple for the dealers (starting from 22$ obv). We've come close but never done that. Just using the 6 as an example, we'd go 6-12-18-30-42-60-90-120-180-300-450-600. That's 11 hits. Hard to do.
