Looking forward to us redistributing the 190k a week between 5 20 year olds who may well end up in the Belgian league within 4 years

I was pretty worried a few years ago when a Spurs colleague and mate told me excitedly over a drink one night about this fabulous new young player they were buying, said to be possibly the best young attacker in the world.

Turned out to be Lo Celso.

^ many such cases

2016:
I saw some sky sports thing where they were calling Dele already the best attacking MF in England, blah blah blah. Dele has a chance to be a real monster in a few years but his season for spurs has had tons of potholes, he shows his inexperience all the time and he's super inconsistent. Potential is through the roof and season has obv been runaway success, but in the short-term I wish pundit dudes would chill.

and last year i heard that ross barkley was the most talented young mf in the world
so anyway, where is damn son off to? heard he was linked to lafc in mls. i imagine he should be able to leverage being one of the best asian players ever into a boatload of money in mls or saudi, if that's what he wants to do at this point.

I’m going to miss Son.
Who was the last player who got more sympathy than the player who got a broken leg, just because he cried.

LA would make an insane amount of sense for him commercially. Yes, he’d get a bigger wage in Saudi Arabia, but the Korean community in LA is massive and I’d imagine the endorsements he could make from there+ the lifestyle would make a lot of sense for him.

Maddison stretched off in the friendly against Newcastle.

Wonder how many more injuries we're going to see this season. I'm guessing there is going to be a serious increase. Some statistician may get fired after sharing these stats after the season.

Also on a similar trail of thought wonder how quick these wonderkids will fall off a cliff that will start getting this treatment at 15 years of age.

Lookman has handed in a transfer request.

The winger market will be interesting now. Lot of clubs in for reinforcements. God im glad we have taken the striker off that list

So am I, but not convinced yet that it’s the right one.

The article doesn't mention "real" prices and literally of course a business is going to try and get the deal they want to make another deal they want? What on earth is this tweet complaining about exactly?

Much easier to get worked up about some bollocks than to think I guess

Didn't Liverpool already reject €55m for Darwin from Napoli? If so, how is a €70m bid a €23m overbid?

These tweets must come from City/Chelsea aficionados who want to claim Liverpool is doing the same thing they have for a decade or two.

Are Newcastle's owners helping Liverpool buy Isak?

Of course they are.
What's not mentioned in that article is that FSG have a sporting partnership with PIF...

Anel leaving is not unexpected given his contract situation but that isn't the best timing

Thomas Partey raped two women and sexually assaulted a third, court hears

A court was told that the alleged offences took place at the £6 million mansion where the former Arsenal player used to live, and at a Spanish hotel

A former Arsenal footballer allegedly raped two women and sexually assaulted a third at his north London mansion and a hotel in Spain, a court was told.Thomas Partey, 32, of Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, is accused of the vaginal and anal rapes of two women, prosecutors said.

The sexual assault allegedly took place at the £6 million property where he used to live. The Ghanaian-born midfielder, who left Arsenal in June and is set to move to Villarreal in Spain, is alleged to have committed the offences between April 2021 and June 2022, according to court documents. On Tuesday, Partey appeared at Westminster magistrates’ court in central London to answer the charges.

Dressed in a black half-zip jumper and black trousers, he spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address. He was not required to enter pleas. Jocelyn Ledward KC, for the prosecution, said two alleged anal rapes related to a woman with whom Partey was in a sexual relationship.A second complainant has accused him of vaginally raping her twice and of a separate anal rape between December 2021 and June 2022. One of the alleged offences took place in Marbella, Spain, the court was told.Ledward said that a third woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by Partey at his home in February 2022.

Partey voluntarily attended several police interviews and was charged by postal requisition on July 4 this year, Ledward added.

Judge Paul Goldspring transferred the case to the Old Bailey where Partey will appear on September 2.

Jaswant Narwal, the chief crown prosecutor for CPS London North, added: “We remind everyone that criminal proceedings are active and the defendant has the right to a fair trial. It is absolutely vital that there is no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy of the Metropolitan Police, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our priority remains providing support to the women who have come forward. We would ask anyone who has been impacted by this case, or anyone who has information, to speak with our team.”

what a nice guy. looks like the t piddy derby is on tonight, is the main man going to get a standing ovation?

Sesko to United seemingly done.

I am really not happy about that. I can live with the Cunha / Mbuemo signings, but Sesko is a potentially next level taking player.

If they address defensive issues I think they will be decent next year and the thought of that just takes all the fun out of this.

They paid too much for an unproven player with nothing more than potential imo. If he wants to develop into a world beater United is a hard place to do that because he will be judged very quickly. We saw this before with Modryk at Chelsea.

If it means Isak staying put it's clearly good for everyone else.

Chelsea is cant be used as an example. They have signed 50 players in the last 4 years.

I forgot they had Mudryk... but I hope they also have him on a 10 year contract

The Sesko price rising to 90m euros makes me feel even better about the price we paid for Gyokeres. Maybe Sesko reach his potential, but that’s a price you pay for a completely developed and established star. No wonder we told Leipzig to **** off.

Has any T6 team had a worse transfer window in recent memory than Newcastle? I thought they were doing brilliantly well by targeting players like Hall and Livramento from Chelsea’s academy. Most of us thought that Gordon was overhyped and overrated and he’s obviously worked out brilliantly.

It just was never going to end well when they decided to start really competing with any of the other top clubs for signings. They do NOT have that kind of pull.

While I am a tad nervous about moving for Sesko, United have scouted him for years. And at 22 he has more top-flight, CL, and National team experience than Højlund did when United moved on Højlund while bringing in a lot more firepower to help him.

United are “fine” on the backline for this season, it’s the MF and GK that gives me serious worries. United need a solid 6 to bring in as Casemiro’s legs are cooked for the Prem and he’s impossible to sell.

If United had even a replacement level GK last year, they’d have given up less goals (I can’t put an exact figure on it, but let’s say between 6-10 less as a guess). That summer of bringing in Mount+Onana for ~£100m while doing DDG dirty was just diabolical. It can’t be changed, but man it just makes me seethe every time I think about it.

Overall though, I’m happy. It would be impossible to actually fully retool United this summer. Dorgu in January along with the moves so far this summer are positive.

So a €65m bid has been accepted. Would love the Arsefan gunnerpunner twitter guy to come back and explain how his math works

Decades of not coming close to competing for the Premier or Champions League and yet he still ghosts Newcastle for Man U lol. Probably about wages I guess.

Newcastle having a summer on par with Keir Starmer.
