Line check - flopped bottom two

1/2 Saturday afternoon

V middle aged unknown. Won’t play bomb bots, and won a decent sized hand calling every street with nut flush draw and getting their in a multiway pot. Prob tight passive.

H is in BB with T7 (effective stack 400) and checks his option after 5 limps

Flop 12

KT7r

H x, all x to v who bets 15. H xr to 40only v calls.

Turn (90)
KT74r

H bet 60 v tank calls

River (210)
KT748r

H has about 300ish behind and?

Bet 100, fold to a jam.

I honestly might prefer to check-call flop and check-evaluate turn versus the multiway overbet. I know that fish love to bomb flops with top pair in these limped pots, so check-call might be a punt though. Leading flop and going bet-bet-bet could be good, too. If I XR flop I am betting really big on the blank turn.

As played, betting small and folding to a jam is probably good. I don't think V overvalues a worse hand on the river, and may even just flat with KT and 77 now that J9 (flopped double gutter) has gotten there.

It's an overbet in relative size, but not in absolute. Raise to 40-50 is good.

H bets out 90 with all intentions to b/f. V calls and H loses to K7; shrug I guess -

Defo shrug. You played it fine.

Size up the turn.

I like the way you played this, but at this point I think I would just check & hope villain checks behind with KQ or KJ.

In most cases, I think people look at all the hands that have them beat, and forget the many hands that they are ahead of. But in this case, we won’t be ahead of many of his hands, if he comes charging ahead.

The tank call would be what I need to eyeball. Could he really call along with one pair, or is he leaning back on a set? There’s no good draws for villain to chase until the river card.
