Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan

Definitely.

These Flock contests would be good for it with the 1/12 draft room advance, especially if you're doing it for player take reasons. I.e., you like Worthy over the other R3 WRs.

And then of course contests like the Pom that are larger and only open for a few days are good too.

You drafting any of the Husky contests? I passed on the first one, but I think I'm going to max the second one. It's not great for my bankroll, and I'm going to end up firing more than I planned, but the structure of that one is just so damn good. I think my strategy in those is going to be fade any injured/suspended guys and just build really balanced teams.

I’m passing on the Huskys, great structure, but would rather play more volume

Both those teams I posted were in the Pom.

Thursday should be fun, IND @ BAL and CIN @ PHI. Hopefully we get a look at Giddens, Brooks, Keaton, and Shipley.

Giddens, Keaton, Brooks, and Monangai are the guys I'm trying to hammer as much as possible right now.

I like those guys. I’m trying to get less Giddens, but only bc I’m way overweight

Giddens is a polarizing one for me. I was close to double the field but pulled back some, especially as we've gotten more clarity on other RB situations. The irony is that Khalil Herbert was one of my biggest targets in that range last season, so if he buries me after drafting Giddens and no Herbert, it'll be a chef's kiss from the fantasy gods.

Now UD is going for contest overload lol. MMG's Best Ball League just dropped.

Haha I was pretty heavy on Herbert earlier so I'm fine switching to Giddens right now especially with the positive reports he's getting.

I don't really want to go too heavy on any of them since the history of rookie RBs drafted in the 4th or later isn't that great, but the reports and coachspeak have been positive, and there is the occasional gem. So I'll click for now.

I'd rank them

Keaton
Brooks
Giddens
Monangai

Yeah, after seeing Herbert not beat out Swift and Roschon last year, then get traded and be useless kind of put me out for this year. So it's another reason I've been in on Giddens.

I think I want to be in on all of those RBs at a 4-8% clip, plus guys like JCM, Hunter, Corum, etc. Just trying to get a little of everyone, primarily stacked or w15-17 correlated.

Is there some news I’m missing? Mondre has fallen to me 2x in the 140s and Javonte as well

For Javonte that’s probably the right price, but I thought Mondre was decent value in the 120

Here’s the squad - it’s the least exciting rb room of all time

Hurts, JJM, Tua

Pacheco, Warren, ETN, Mondre, Javonte, Shipley

JJ, Reek, Smith, Addison, Mims, Wandale, TeSlaa

McBride, Chig

Put together my top 3 rd rankings for .5 ppr, I do not follow these to draft as there are some takes here that would leave me with bad exposures, but this is what I actually believe

35. Hurts
36. Kittle

Nice. I don't think there's any wrong order for the top 5.

I'd probably put London ahead of Bowers and Henry
Lamar/Allen ahead of Tee

Personally, I wouldn't knock Puka or Adams if Stafford does miss a lot of time or is out for the year. This could just be JJ all over again where a lot of people were afraid to draft him because of Darnold. Except in this case, Darnold is Jimmy G who has already proven he's capable as a starter.

I think the rams guys will be fine with Jimmy G, but I do think Stafford creates a ceiling that Jimmy can’t.

I still have Stafford as a top 6/7 real life qb

On Tee, honestly you’re probably right that the QBs should be ahead of him

Idk why but I just don’t like London that much. He’s fine and gets volume, but I feel like he’s just not as talented as those other guys

Jimmy G scares the **** out of me. But it did net me my first Puka/BTJ start earlier. I’ve cooled on both Puka and Davante, but I’ll scoop at discounts. I think Darnold is pretty far ahead of Jimmy G right now. But I can understand just betting on McVay to figure it out. Another angle is that if Stafford is out for an extended period or misses the season, there is extra downside if Jimmy G gets injured. I guess it would be Stetson Bennett at that point.

I’m very into London, mainly because I think Penix is a WR kingmaker. And I expect the offense to be up tempo and pass heavy.

Not to mention, how many WRs are out here pushing over their HC in practice?

ALPHA lol.

I've got $9 on UD, so doing 3 more Poms which will take take me to 10 total.

Going to deposit $15. Should I do 3 of the MMG contests or 1 Flock and 1 MMG?

Probably 3 MMGs since the upside is a lot more. But your expected finals teams of 1 flock and 1 MMG is .024 compared to .01 for 3 MMGs. So close to 2.5x more expected but still very unlikely.

Oldest te room possible haha

Mahomes, Herbert, Rodgers

Breece, Pollard, Mondre, Tuten, Ford

Nico, Ladd, Worthy, Flowers, Jeudy, Legette, Austin

Kelce, Ertz, Conklin

It never feels good being in on the same guys as Griddy.

Haha griddys player takes are not always his problem. He’s on a lot of good players he just is terrible at understanding everything else about best ball.

He also likes some absolutely terrible players though

lol ya I think his top 2 RBs are Mondre and Najee.

And honestly, I think there is some baseline value in the way he tries to attack the various positions and thinks about the way QB/TE spike weeks work in the playoffs. And his hero WR approach probably has a small place in portfolios.

But he pushes it too far and overloads at the onesies.

lol Shanny, sounds great.

Got my 3 MMG teams, and decided to have a different strategy for each since I'm only doing 3.
