I come here to debate and argue ideas. Sure it gets hostile etc but it is what it is. The value of 2p2 politics (which I've said repeatedly) is that you have a pool of educated people that isn't too big and anonymous like probably reddit (never been) or something that is way too personal like your own social media account. The community is big enough to be interesting but small enough to still be familiar with posters and their body of work. It's unfortunate that a legacy of sklansky brained decisions in appointing moderators has hamstrung the potential.

I don't read most of lucicoms posts but when I do he's actually formulating an argument and genuinely trying to communicate and defend it. I think people like him deserve far more tolerance and people like trolly, jalfrezi, etc etc who spam completely empty derpism which does nothing but raise the temperature and trollishness of the forum should be warned, limited, temped. Actual bans should be reserved for stuff way more serious than bad political takes. I can't remember the guys screen name but there was a lefty spamming geniune garbage rants on every topic all day long during covid. Clearly jacked on some sort of meth or derivative. Posters like that should just have a daily post limit.

I think being very light on moderating content makes sense. Being less tolerant of useless derps that aren't even trying to contribute anything would make this a better place

I do find it funny it/that is claiming it/that only found out today that it/that was unbanned cuz it/that had a friend (lol) who told it/that so when I distinctly remember clicking on it/that’sprofile over a week ago cuz I was curious if it/that posted since being unbanned and seeing it/that’s last activity as viewing the forums 8/1 or something like that

I started an innocuous thread that led to his meltdown to declare his nazism is perfectly acceptable

I didn't see what happened recently, but he always came off as one of the more even-tempered posters on this forum, especially given the crazy amount of posts and engagement with hostile parties.

That's the key to the whole forum wars thing, Getting your enemies banned even supercedes political argument for some people. Think Jman220 and cuserounder etc. beseeching mods to ban people.
