New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Wait, BK has a 1/4 cheeseburger that isn't a whopper? And it's one big patty not two small ones? That can't be right, I've never seen such a thing.
Yeah I'm not using the correct name. "The Big burger deal" or something like that. But I just looked, and the option is no longer in the app. :(

Phew. As a self proclaimed fast food know-it-all, if I found out there was a second burger at one of the big 3 I'd never heard of (after learning about the existence of the McDs daily double months ago itt), I'd have to do some real soul searching.
surprised at the number of no mustard on burger folks
i am also team KPM, each bite is like mixing your own thousand island
Same. I just personally don't like the taste of pineapple so it doesn't belong on anything for me.
Ironically I love pineapple, but I'm too embarrassed to order it on pizza. And there's really no normal food that it goes on, so I seldom eat it. Sonic used to make shakes with chopped up pineapple, but no longer. :-(
I bet you could get a pineapple sundae at DQ, or just order the traditional banana split, for a pineapple fix.
I'm unreasonably excited to try Walmart generic Raisin' Canes sauce I snagged a bottle of while randomly in a Walmart last week. Will be cracking it open tonight!I don't have a Cane's near me. I'm trying to decide if I should splurge on good chicken tenders from Wingstop (unsauced) which will end up running me $20+, or just go with the 20-nuggets and 2 medium fries for $12 McD
Carl's makes good chicken tenders. Don't know if they would be good with that dipping stuff.

Probably. I haven't been inside a DQ in many years. I just go through the drive-thru occasionally and get a box of dilly bars. My freezer is so full of crap lately there's no room for dilly bars. I suspect a sundae would melt and just be a sticky puddle by the time I got home.
But you already have a solution to that problem!

Lots of teriyaki burgers with a nice slice of grilled pineapple 'round these parts. I almost never get one because it's always my 3rd or 4th option, but I am always impressed when I have a bite of someone else's.

No Carl's in Seattle :(
I have finally sat through all the raves about Cane's sauce I can stand. It is ok, but it seems to me simply to be a neutered version of Comeback Sauce.
I feel sorry for you guys who haven't experienced this for yourselves. There are several different versions for sale around here, and many restaurants mix their own. There are many recipes online for making your own.
Lots of burger joints around here have Comeback burgers on their menus. IMO it's great for that, as a salad dressing, or dipping Saltines and fried vegetables, but family has found it great with fries or onion rings. The best way I can describe it to you guys is Cane's sauce with more flavor and a kick. Some versions come with more kick than others.
Give it a shot if you run across it.
For complete disclosure my wife and I forced Golddog to give a pretty spicy version a try when he passed through here a few years ago but he didn't care for it at all.
a few burger joints in pdx also serve comeback sauce
tasty stuff

the one in kent isn't that far away but i'd just do ezell's or even safeway if i wanted some strips to try a sauce with.
actually i'd probably just do wing stop boneless and also get some honey mustard or bleu cheese in case i don't like the supermarket sauce.

And dude WTF LOL
Also I used to order my whoppers with extra extra pickles before they made you pay for that.
Man those were the days. BK pickles are top notch. That, some onion rings, a gallon of zesty sauce to shower in.
That’s what’s up.

True, but I'm not a mayonnaise fan at all (which I think is a component of Cane's sauce). Not so much on creamy sauces/dressings in general.
So, that's on me, not on the sauce.

Cane's first location was in LSU so good bet it was indeed knocking off comeback sauce (which I've never had, other than Cane's).
The Walmart bottled version was... fine. Something was a tad missing from it. I don't hate it or anything, but probably wouldn't buy another bottle.
Is it peppery?

A Jersey Mike's is opening here this week. Does anyone know if they are good? It looks like they have a couple of subs that I'm interested in, such as the club sub.

Really good!
My rankings
1. Club Sub
2. Club Supreme
3. Tuna
4. Mike's Famous Philly (add mayo and bacon)
5. Turkey and Provolone
6. The Number Four
7. Chicken Salad
The pepper relish is awesome, and I hear the hot honey is great as well, but I haven't tried it yet.
