1/2: TPTK facing flop bet from nitreg
$500 eff
Hero opens $15 UTG with A♠️Q♠️, nitreg (UTG2) calls, CO BTN BB call
Flop ($75): Q♦️T♦️9♣️
BB x, Hero x, V bets $45, CO folds, BTN calls, BB folds, Hero (?)
This bet into 4 people seems super strong. Is it okay to just muck here itself?

I don't think so because he has a lot of KQ QJ, unless you think he's super nit and folding those hands even suited pre then just muck as I guess he has a set.
I might be wrong but I prefer to just keep betting the flop, if a nit raises me then it's an easy muck
Grunching, my first instinct is to call and hope the turn is a blank and checks through
But the more I think about it, I like a fold
I would have to fold against any large turn action , and there is about half a decks worth of cards that we wouldn't love to see on the turn
And I don't love the odds that the turn checks through really
On the flop we are hoping he has TJ or QJ or something like that, those hands are likely continuing to blast on the turn , and I dont think I can hold on , so probably better to fold now
CO calling also weights it more to a fold for me
I'd call and see the turn, make V bet again. If truly a "nitreg" I don't see them blasting the turn with Pair+draw much, so if you face another bet over half pot then fold turn might be ok.

Yea that’s exactly what I was thinking.. seems like a call on surface but so many bad turns and we may already be drawing dead
UTG2 is a nitreg and should have as nearly a strong a range as Hero but I still x-call. Once you check he can still bet KQ and QJ as well as the more nutted TT, 99, QTs and KJs. Sure, you're OOP but you're giving up a fair chunk of equity by folding. If turn bricks and UTG2 continues for a decent size it's an relatively easy fold. I mean, ideally you'd have A♦ or A♣Q♣ which would make x-calling flop more straightforward.
Grunch:
I have to ask how certain you are in your reads. This is at least the second time I've seen you describe an opponent as a nitreg. The more confident we are in our reads, the more adjustments we can make based on them.
PRE - opening to $15 at 1/2 seems large, but you got four calls, so I'm guessing it's a splashy game and we need to play tight / raise big.
FLOP - Yeah, just check from OOP with 3/4 opponents behind. V's over 1/2 PSB and BTN's call would push me towards a fold, I think. The nittier V is, and the more aware BTN is, the more I fold.
I’m calling OTF like 90-95% of the time. Live read folding 5-10%. Too strong to fold here.
He's got 6ish combos of sets and 4ish of straights, but 6 of JJ alone plus however many AJ/QJ/JT plus flush draws. Maybe even some 88. Action so far isn't what we wanted - no doubt youknowwho will be along presently to tell us that open limping would have prevented this - but that's life.
The main issue on the flop is the button call - depending on player type there can be a whole load of nutted and 2p+ hands going on. Button range is far more concerning than the nitreg and that might sway things towards an immediate flop fold, although I'd have no issue whatsoever with a call.
Fold flop. After the button call on this super wet flop that smashes his preflop range, your tptk is probably no good.
