Golf in Las Vegas Superthread
Any recommendations on where to play in Vegas? I'm in town for the weekend and would like to get a round in. I'm stayi
I've played Wildhorse once - about 15 years ago - and didn't particularly care for it. Lots of narrow fairways iirc and it seemed like they would not hold tee shots as if they were crowned in the middle or something. Or maybe it was just me sucking (lol), idk. otoh I do remember that the staff were very friendly.
The last hole is a b**ch. a par 4 where you have to hit over water to a narrow green that is sloped downward towards the water. if u put any backspin on the ball, good chance you're going in the drink
It is an older course - kind of a mix of desert golf and traditional layout. I know they used to have professional events there in the 1960s & 70s.
One of my favourite tracks in Vegas for the $ was Badlands Saw that the city had to pay the developer over 250 million for what it did to block his development
Pretty good investment now
I'm bringing the clubs with me to Vegas this year. Give me something else to do than play 100 play vid poker between tournaments.
I'll be back up for a short trip late next week and would be down to play on Friday 8/22 if anyone is around and wants to get out. If not, I may make a solo trip up to Wolf Creek again since at $150 it's as cheap as it gets all year.

Does Wolf Creek have that type of 36 hole deal? I know Paiute does, and we did it back in late February, but it was $354 and holy **** did we ever get unlucky with weather. It was blowing 40+ mph and I'm not sure it ever got above 50 degrees that day. I definitely wasn't dressed for it.

MY bad I meant Paiute not Wolf Creek. $150 for wolf creek is a great deal and they still have it for $354 weekdays and $404 weekends food was great as well

I ended up booking Chimera for that Friday along with a local 2p2er. The 10:07 tee time is going to make for a hot round but it was so much cheaper after 10:00....like $85 instead of $160. Coming up from Phoenix, I'm used to playing in the heat so it's worth it to save the money...at least it is to me.
Two spots open if anyone else wants to get out!!

Good ole Tuscany a great track for all levels Love the finishing hole. Did they ever get a permanent clubhouse
I had no idea what you were talking about until I did some googling and saw that's what Chimera used to be called. I've never been there so I don't know about the clubhouse. But I can let you know next weekend!

Sorry I thought you knew most of the Vegas golf. As CDN's we used to go every year and this page gave us so much helpfull info from staying at places like the Suncoast or Boulder station. How to find the deals
We haven't been to Vegas pre covid as the golf is just nuts and some of the great deals like Badlands or Primm are no0 longer there. We have done Phoenix twice but that has become pricey as well
Next year were talking Tuscon as we had a trip planned there pre covid and that got wiped out with the border closures
Ventana Canyon is pretty great in Tucson, a golf group I have a trip with annually goes there about 40-50% of the time, and two very good courses right on site, solid food, solid accommodations.
