I got them at miss the playoffs at +190
and I'm now betting against them every game with a small hedge per game that they win by 4+. The hedge is just to emphasize that they have little chance to win any game unless they're up a million. Live betting middle innings also probably a good idea, but that can be stressful to figure out when to place it.

I see across town Yankee fans are obsessed with firing Boone because of nonsense like the batting order....look in 2025 we all know Jonah Hill and Brad Pitt make the lineup and construct the roster, the manager's sole responsibly is to is to babysit lazy entitled wealthy GenXers and make them care and give their all. It's painfully obvious Mendoza is the WOAT at his 1 responsibility. Firing him now and bringing in a Rex Ryan type persona could still save this season, and our genius patient owner continues to deny the obvious. A baseball team is not the stock market Steve.
It's also silly people think its Mets or Reds now. Look, baseball teams are random these days, the only 3 things we can be sure of in life are death, taxes, and the 2025 Mets finishing the season in in flames. The Reds may very will shit the bed too, they could play .650 ball or .400 ya never know. But the Mets being horrendous is a certainty and can easily be passed by the Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Giants, and Marlins. .500 the rest of the way from any of them will be good enough to pass a team that will probably finish another 12 or so under, and 1 of them certainly will.
This idea that they have to merely "hold off the Reds" is false.

They actually managed to top 07/08. This is the most ridiculous, sad and pathetic thing in the history of sports. I previously would have said it was that French guy that lost a 3 stroke lead on the last hole in a major, but I think this is worse than that. I know from a probability standpoint 07 was less likely but that required the Mets chocking AND the Phillies playing out of their minds. This is JUST the Mets by themselves, the teams behind them weren't playing well, it's surreal. It's only possible with a leadership problem.
It is simply not possible to oscillate between the best team in baseball and the worst team in baseball for periods of time ranging up to 4-6 months. No one else has ever done it, no one else ever will do it. They've done this on and off for 2 years, they could have and should have fired the manager in July when it was very obvious this problem existed. Now it's too late. Unbelievable.
The Wilpon's probably would have fired Mendoza mid-season.
