Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan

On the flip side, most contingent bets will be bad bets for the first 4 weeks, so maybe you want to load up on the guaranteed week 1 role WRs/RBs then pound late QBs/TEs who all have secure roles.

I like that idea.

Doing one more later and I'll try it out. Went for the elite QB in this one.

Jayden

Chase, KW, Dobbins, Tuten, Allgeier, Guerendo, CRod

ARSB, Zay, Deebo, Reed, Kupp, M Wilson, Tolbert

Kraft, Kincaid, Gesicki

I’m too lazy/tired/busy to think through another game right now so probably sitting the 4 game slate out. Hopefully they drop another puppy so I can get a little more action in

So far I’ve basically doubled my draft output from last year (400ish last year)

This year I have

Pre-draft: 206
Post draft: 480
SF: 100
Eliminator: 1 (with heels and newguy)

Total: 787

Here’s my post draft exposures

I’ll post mine at the end. It won’t be that exciting, since it’s mostly flat haha. I’m at around 1,100 between UD and DK. I originally planned to do less than last year. Oops.

I’ll have to back off next year if this season doesn’t go well, because the financial investment isn’t cheap.

This UD browser/app update is pissing me off. I now have to login every time I open the app. And when I open the app, it kicks me out of the browser.

I'll also post my final exposure at the end. But here's my current entries

DK -
Pre-draft: 242
Post draft: 162
KOTD Qualifiers: 21
Total: 425

UD -
Pre-draft: 14
Post draft:255
SF: 55
Eliminator: 8
Total: 332

Drafters
Pre-Draft: 1
Post draft: 53
Total: 54

Overall: 811

Welp, so much for this idea

Because winning $1MM sounds way cooler than winning something less lol

Honestly my biggest mistake is entering so many of the DK Milly's. If I don't win big this season then next year I'm definitely focusing on the smaller buy-ins and will probably do 10-20 max of the Milly.

But seriously, if I don't win big THIS YEAR, then next season I'm

Fading the big board
Only doing $3-$5 contests across DK, Drafters, and UD.
Saving the DK Milly and BBM for August and doing 10-20 of each.

Yeah, if I get my ass kicked this year, I’ll cut out BBM completely, plus contests like the Husky, back down pre-draft, etc.

I’d probably still fire 50 or so Millys with the various promos.

With that said, the best ball week promos this week have sucked. The one in July was way better. I’m holding out hope for tomorrow and Friday.

Saints just paid kinda a lot for Vele (4th + 7th)

LOL. Sean found someone who cares more about WR size than he does.

Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant are about to get much more expensive.

Here's a First Q team I could get behind. As long as Reed starts Week 1 or 2

Mahomes, Maye

CMC, Jacobs, Pacheco, Charb, Blue, Allgeier

Rice, Worthy, Flowers, Reed, Palmer, Ky Williams, Slayton, Franklin

Strange, Gesicki

I've bee taking Franklin ahead of Bryant. I Think Franklin is the better best ball player with his big play ability. Troy and Bo are gonna hook up a ton this year on long bombs. They came close last year and it sounds like they have figured it out. Troy also bulked up so he isn't a one trick pony. Pat might be more consistent like 5/70 type games. He's gonna be a great pro.

Meh, the route volume got a little cleaner, but no one has been drafting Vele. Engram, Harvey, and Dobbins are going to soak up more targets than TE/RB did last season.

Mims, Bryant, and Franklin are all good best ball clicks, but it’s still going to be a rotation. Plus, Sean likes playing WRs we’ve never even heard of.

It’s more the Saints being stupid than the Broncos making a big adjustment.

Skyy Moore to the 49ers. TIL skyy moore was still on the chiefs roster

Skyy Moore to the moon.

I didn’t even realize he was still in the league.

Poor guy doesn’t even know he’s going to be injured by next week.

My last flock for the day.

I don't think I've ever gone 7 RB's and only 6 WR's.

QB) Lamar, Stafford

RB) Mason, Warren, Etienne, Skattebo, Allen, Allgeier, White

WR) Nico, Puca, Harrison, Metcalf, Flowers, Coker

TE) Goedert, Likely, Taylor

You are correct about the rotation of WR's. With Vele gone Pat becomes a starter. Denver feels that Pat will be a better version of Vele and a lot younger. I think the pie in Denver will be large. Getting rid of Vele shows their confidence in Pat as well as the rest of the WR's. This will open a roster spot on a team that is extremely deep with talent. Engram and Dobbins almost certainly will not be playing close to every game this year. I think Pat is as good as any click in the last three rounds at WR. That's where he has been going and I think he should be going a couple rounds higher. He will be a chain mover and will get consistent points. He'll probably score 5-6 TD's this year.

Franklin is rising quite a bit. He has gone from not being drafted to as high as the 16th round. He's gonna go nuclear several times this year. I've seen situations like this before where a player ends the season on a high note and continues his progression the following year. The drum beat out of Denver has been loud all off season. Franklin then followed it up with great performances in the pre season. I think he is gonna be a better version of peak Bills Gabe Davis. His chemistry with Bo is very real.

I think Mims is a horrible pick when you can get Franklin usually in the 17th. I don't think it's an accident that Mims never got the playing time people expected. He is super explosive and might take a big leap this year. I don't think he is built to get a lot of targets. I have a feeling Troy is gonna be more of the man.

Trent Sherfield will be the guy many people haven't heard of that ends up playing a lot.

Jerry Jeudy....Should be great with Flacco. I think he'll be fine with Shedeur or Gabriel.

Rome....He'll be playing the number one receiver position(The X receiver). He is big and talented. If Caleb makes the leap he could be very good. Ben Johnson is a massive upgrade for the offense. DJ Moore may still get more targets. I do worry that the Bears might get off to a slow start as they get used to the new offense.

Breece....Bad vibes right now. Great vibes for Braelon Allen. Breece hasn't been the same since his injury. It's best to avoid RB's on bad teams and this team looks to be bad.

Kaleb Johnson......I think he'll be fine. He hasn't looked good yet. I'd buy the dip. This team is gonna run a lot.

Andrews/Likely.....I kind of like getting Likely cheap right now because of his injury and passing on Andrews. Andrews is still good though and will probably score a bunch of TD's.

Kincaid....I love his price this year. He is just not on the field enough to become elite.

Jerry Jeudy - Not someone I'm going out of the way for, but not a bad click if you need a WR in that range. I like him over Meyers, Swift, and Kaleb who all can go in the range.

Breece Hall - Very risky at the 3/4 turn given how the Jets seem to feel about his usage, but I like him more at the 4/5 turn where he's falling now.

Kaleb Jonhson - Pass. Hasn't looked good in camp or practice.

Rome Odunze - 2nd year breakout potential. I like the bet on the Bears offense with Ben Johnson. Obvious risk with a lot of mouths to feed, but I still like taking him over guys like Olave and Diggs now.

Andrews / Likely - I like both, but will take Likely since he's 7-8 rounds cheaper now.

Kincaid - He's fine. Would prefer as my TE2.

Thanks guys, good stuff

Yeah, I just did a 12-team mock from the 4-spot, and landed him at the 4/5 turn with pick #45. Had no idea of what to think. Prob still a large range of outcomes, but guess I'll wait for him to fall further.

I don't know that he'll fall much further than that. He's still the starter. 4/5 turn is a very reasonable spot to take the chance that he is better than we think.
