A-****ing-men. My first job was on a short order grill in the morning and making subs in the afternoon. One gets opinionated in that line of work 😀

Ha - mine was 50% short order grill (which was burger, chicken and cheesesteak subs) and then 50% hand made pizzas. The girls served the customers and did the cold cuts - clear gender driven division of labour

So what are locals favorite bars for good bar food or something that’s not quite bar food that you love getting that may be close to home or that you travel for to get?

Steiner’s is a place that has great bar food for me. Born and Raised is another one, but the original recently closed and I don’t rep the others as I haven’t been and haven’t necessarily heard good things about them.

So what say you locals?

I am (was?) from the shore in Monmouth county so we were NY-centric media and sports. Was still pork roll for us, so the lines for these divides aren’t always consistent. My mom was from haddonfield, clearly on the Philly side of the state.

Haddonfield is nice... and yes practically Philly. That is an odd sentence.

Perfect place for this discussion about New Jersey and Philly guys, please keep it going.

Have I ever recommended https://www.gazzossteaks.com/

This is LV... it's a town that has food from all over the nation. This is such a bad gripe.

Here you go. Welcome to a terrible Philly experience (it's actually not bad, but just not good).

I recently went to Red Dwarf for the first time. Well, I went once before and left because it was too crowded.

Big beer selection and small food selection. Primarily pizza. But man, it is great Detroit style pizza. I planned to eat half and take half home but I wolfed the whole thing down.

I enjoyed the music too as I listened to punk as a yoot and that was in the mix along with some surf and various other edgy guitar rock.

No gambling which is a rarity. I don't care much one way or the other but I guess it was nice to eat without having to work around a video poker machine.

I'm actually not sure what you are doing here. You want opinions from just locals that most likely didn't grow up there. That is why there are NJ/NY/PA responses.

IMO, it should be about bringing good food to LV. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's kind of want LV wants to do.

Japaneiro still one of the best late night options left. Late night happy hour isn’t nearly as great a deal as it used to be, but it just makes me order from the regular menu more and it’s totally worth it.

The Las Vegas Casual Dining Thread, which is about restaurants in Las Vegas, so people can recommend or warn against restaurants in Las Vegas, you think we should be taking space talking about another city’s restaurants? It’s not about bringing food here, it’s about finding food here. Please feel free to start the Haddonfield food thread I won’t stop you, and I’ll stay out of there.

One or two posts is fine, but you’re having a full scale back and forth over a very specific little bit of area thousands of miles away from Las Vegas, you know the place in the title of the thread. It’s wild to think that keeping the Las Vegas food thread the Las Vegas food thread is wrong, but people’s extreme lack of any self awareness these days shouldn’t surprise me.

Went to snooze off Durango and Sunset on a Sunday morning. It was packed.

I got the corned beef hash.

The corned beef hash was very bland. The only thing that could save it was adding more salt and ketchup.

Service was poor. I had to stop different servers/ runners multiple times to get water refilled, cutlery, hot sauce/ ketchup and etc.

I would not recommend.

Haven’t been to Noodle Asia in about 10 years. Still solid and IMO better than its 3.4 on Yelp.

XLB $17 - 8/10
Seared shrimp and chive dumplings $11 - 9/10
Dan Dan noodles $18 - 7.5/10
Spicy wontons $12 - 7.5/10

They comped the XLB since it took a few minutes extra.

It’s a chain, I went once, had fine service, place was pretty meh/forgettable.

as a card carrying member of the corned beef hash society of america that image makes me want to weep and wipe my tears off with rye toast

oh wait look the cook already beat me to it

That is some sad CBH. I found that Emerald Casino in Henderson does a nice CBH with massive quantities of hash. If its the weekend, plan on a 30+ minute wait for a table.

I forgot the discussion that was happening, and thought the "H" should be a "D" for a second.

Stubborn Seed so underrated, the food is incredible and 25% off for locals. Vibe is closer to fine dining but it’s a burger so it’s going here.

Wagyu burger $28 - I am now convinced it’s the best one in Vegas. Go get one, thank me later. 11/10

Spiced barramundi with green curry - 9/10

Citrus yellowtail app - 9.5/10 phenomenal sauce

Good to know. We'll be staying at Resorts World in November and will definitely give it a try.

It was a discussion about Pork Roll, and besides, every thread on this forum is an opportunity to build community between Vegas regs, locals, and visitors. Off-topic posts are normal.

I dont know who pissed in your cheerios, but please don't piss in mine.

Yeah displaced diaspora from other parts of the country especially up north. Think about how many bars cater towards say people from Wisconsin, Minnesota or Chicago. There’s possibly more Buffalo/Western NY focused bars in this town LV/Nevada focused bars.

Bavette’s still has the best bacon on the planet
