Could you clarify your question? Is it about how many chips per table? Of course it depends on how many people you have at the table and legal limits to how much can be on the table.

To open ended for complete answer, but for 100’s the answer is about zero.

I have played some very deep stack 1/3. Until you get to the very deepest levels, 100’s don’t need to play. 1500 BBs would be $3000 for 1/2. That is only 6 stacks of green.

What max size bets, other than all ins, would you expect? How often is a player going to bet or call more than 1 stack of green and not go all in?

Going beyond that depth, maybe adding black is helpful. I would think $1000 placards would be even better.

If you are indeed asking about a chip breakdown for a $1/2 match-the-stack game, the typical guidance is one or two racks of $1s (where 1 rack = 100 chips) and as many $5s as you can get your hands on. Then round out the high end with a rack of $25s and a couple barrels of $100s (where 1 barrel = 20 chips).

This question might be more suitable for the home game forum if you are asking from that perspective. I ran a $1/1 match-the-stack game that played more like $1/3 with straddles and frequent bomb pots. I believe that the most we had on the table was around $6,500. That is covered by $1*100 + $5*400 + $25*60 + $100*40 = $7,600 if we constrain ourselves to six racks. Adjust as desired.

The point is that for any stakes, you want a few "change" chips, a crapload of "workhorse" chips, and some bigger chips for those sicko nights.

Even playing 6 handed with $6500 on the table, I see no NEED for any 100’s. Thousand per player is $700 green, $280 red, $20 white.

In the match stack 1/3 I play, I frequently buyin for a single full rack $820. Stack of green, 3 stacks of red and stack of white which is a full rack.
