I had to invoke Sly.

your interrogative lacks a complementary 'Babe'.
"is it me you're looking for, Babe," would be correct.

I sometimes consider picking up the spam calls I get. I'm retired. Time, as they say, is on my side.
Just reverse-troll the **** out of the caller. "Wow! That sounds great! Tell me more!" "Wait, I need to ask my wife about that."
if i do elect to answer it comes without saying a single word
had a roomie in the 90s that would pick up the cordless phone and immediately place it on the adjacent stereo speaker and leave it there for several hours
It's a virginal.
One of the Vermeers at the Frick was on loan from the Rijks.
Also, Jon Jost's film All the Vermeers in New York is really good.

It was Barneyβs(Silence Of The Lambs and Hannibal) goal to see all the Vermeers extant in the world.
Spoiler
He got all but one.

I knew a guy who would immediately interrupt street panhandlers with βBro, I just got pickpocketed, can you give me $5 for the train?β
Almost certainly BS but I read something about a guy who stayed on the phone long enough with the Nigerian Princes that they sent him $500 so he could facilitate sending them $100K.
Some tiny fraction of the sundry tales of johns getting prostitutes strippers & lapdancers to give THEM money are probably true.
I've also considered speaking very quietly. "I have a sore throat, you'll have to turn up the volume on your end."
Then placing the phone next to the car horn and letting them have it.

One friend told cold callers that he will put the phone down and let the guy talk as long as he wanted to show his boss he was working hard to make a sale.

great movie about a guy trying to replicate Vermeer's work, directed by Penn & Teller:
Broken YouTube LinkPretty sure I saw that. Maybe dragged a bit, but worth watching imo.
I inherited my kids when they were 5 and 3. I've always referred to them as my children despite lacking any of my DNA. In time, step-children become your children.
About four years ago, I totaled my car after a seizure in New Hampshire (I don't know how many of my nine lives I've used up).
My daughter drives to the NH hospital. When a nurse or doctor sort of demanded to know who she was, she announced, "I'm his daughter."
I'm the last parent still alive. My son turns 45 today, and my daughter turns 43 on 9/11.
40 years go by quickly. I can't even begin to tell you how much they mean to me, but only to say they have stuck with me all these years. That means everything.
Besides, as I informed my daughter, she'll need to take care of me someday. I think she's up to it.

Yeah, that's another pub quiz won. I mean you just had to know the song and the singer LOL, but for the bonus of course everyone knows who wrote this.
That's right. I didn't get this song from the (brief) intro, though.
Saw a good documentary on Woodstock the other day. Lucky there wasn't some mass electrocution during the storm.

the visonary michael nesmith
one of the first to marry cheeky videos with music starting from back in his this is the monkees days
fast forward to class of '81 grammy ceremony when elephant parts wins the first ever music video award
hell of a satire in the vein of zucker abrahams zucker getting stoned with monty python while watching kentucky fried movie
was also responsible for the bitchin' popclips on nickelodian
which in many ways inspired the formation of mtv
when combined with television parts from '85 he creates a launching pad of familiar commedians and skits
A quintessential piece of art.
Gist => A+
It wouldβve made a great album cover for someone like Gram Parsons or Joni Mitchell.
Another year of teaching. Two trans students in the same class and what seem like a bunch of nice students. A few are taking a second class with me. Poor kids.
