He didn't control the ball. It's actually loose from his arms for like a fraction of a second.

Yeah, but that's only a problem if he was falling out of bounds. As long as the ball didn't touch the ground and help him maintain the ball, it doesn't matter if the ball moves while he's rolling inbounds.
