Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan

Why is Najee Harris still going in round 14? He should be going in round 10/11 at the latest. Also, why is Hampton still going early third?

I think Najee and Rashaad White are gonna be the guys you need this year. Just a gut feel.

I passed on Quinshon Judkins at 175 a few weeks ago and I have a feeling that's gonna haunt me the whole year.

Hey guys just curious if anyone has felt the negative side of the addictive nature of fantasy drafting and best ball? I enjoy drafting, and the challenge of creating good lineups that fit target percentages, but it is also quite repetitive and addictive; similarto poker.

I've had to be deliberate about getting outside for a bike ride and getting to the gym. If I didn't have plans to meet up with a friend, some days could just be spent grinding drafts online non stop. The constant barrage of podcasts and content keeps you thinking about it day and night.

I'll enjoy these last few days of the drafting season, but just curious if anyone else felt the same about best ball and fantasy football. I know there are drafts after the start of the season for certain periods like after week 5 or week 6, but I'll likely refrain from those as I know I can get too carried away and distracted.

Certainly applies to addictive stuff like fantasy and poker but can really apply to so many things in modern life with the extreme advancement of technology and everyone having the opportunity to "busy themselves" with something(social media, YouTube etc) 24/7. Make time for friends, family, exercise, cooking meals and sunshine. It will have very real benefits later in life

12 Team - $10 Entry SNG on UD.

Waited a bit long after Jefferson at WR, but I think it worked out ok.

Hurts, Stroud

J. Taylor, Conner, Tracy, Najee, K. Miller, S. Tucker

JJ, Diggs, Odunze, Mooney, C. Kirk, Horton, P. Bryant, AD Mitchell

McBride, Ferguson

I may have just won the Puppy 4 but you can never be sure.

QB) Mahomes, Lawrence, Stafford

RB) Jeanty, Cook, Henderson, Dowdle, Hunt

WR) Puca, Hunter, Rice, Shaheed, Kirk, Hollywood, Tesla, Franklin

TE) Warren, Strange.

I just need Hollywood to put up a few points while Rice is out. Puca and Franklin are my anchors.

Up until the last couple years ago I used to play in several high dollar online fantasy leagues and a couple office and friend leagues. I used to obsess over my drafts and lineups etc. I found that a win felt ok but a loss felt horrible. I was angry all of the time about stupid lineup mistakes or failing to get a free agent etc. I thought about my team all day. I made far less in fantasy than I did playing poker but I spent far more time on fantasy. I have since switched to just doing best ball. It eliminates my stupid lineup decisions. Not having control of the team after the draft is kind of nice. Now I can focus on DFS. I can choose to play a slate or not. I feel better about going out with friends or out of town not worrying about my teams. I only did 100 BB teams this year compared to 300 last year. After I learned how ridiculous the odds are of having a team advance to the finals my gusto for this game went flat. I do love the drafts. I am aware that this is pretty much just a game of luck.

Thank goodness I took Jahmyr Gibbs a lot early on because I haven't been able to get him in the last two months. 8.6% is not enough. He's probably gonna be the number 1 pick next year. It's weird because I would bet a decent amount that Chase does not end up the number 1 pick again but it logically makes sense to take him every time at the 1.

I had 1 WR through 6. Did I land the plane? Did I overdo it? I could have added a 3rd TE, but I opted for a 10th WR to lean into McBride given the WR punt.

It's definitely an addictive activity. Especially when you realize that volume is mostly necessary to feel like you have a chance to make a few deep runs.

I think that's good for the SNG structure. Your WRs have a much lower bar, even starting 3, compared to the big field tournaments.

That looks good. It makes sense and is well balanced.

I have no idea why XL isn't moving up. I keep clicking him in every draft. He should be up to the 10/11 with the end of that WR tier. After the Coker injury, he's a better pick than the other WRs that go between that range and his current ADP.

I 100% percent agree. No Coker, No Thielen. People forget he was a first round pick. People forget that WR's sometimes take a year or two to develop. I think Bryce is gonna be pretty good this year.

Would you have ditched Kendre/S. Tucker for a 9th WR, or passed on Conner/Tracy for an earlier WR?

He should be a bit higher - But his rookie year wasn't great, and no one really considers CAR to be a good team. Most people, even the experts, probably just aren't very excited to pick him when their turn is up.

Na, I really like your top 5 WRs. And then the last 3 all have upside. You primarily want RB to hit your flex, so 6/8 is a good balance.

And yeah, not liking the Panthers is a big part of it. XL didn't have a good rookie season. But if you blindly bet on second year first round picks, you'll do pretty well. I think adding Tet is the perfect compliment for XL. And our defense still sucks, resulting in a lot of passing.

I only mentioned Coker, but like Mong said, the loss of Thielen should help too.

At this point, it's Tet, XL, and then a bunch of JAGs and washed dudes. The team is invested in XL doing well. Canales is also a former WR coach, so I think he can make the most of it.

Team 1

I've gone hero WR in my last few drafts and I kind of like it.

You did land the plane.. You have a lot of dudes who can fill in for Reed/Mooney/Juan assuming slow starts. I think Tillman is a lot better than people think, dare I say a star. End of year you should have a nice receiving room.

Your bet is on McBride you don't need a third TE.

Team 2

I love the QB room even though you waited.

The RB's are fragile but you got a lot.

The WR's need to stay healthy until Godwin gets back. It's a strong unit.

I feel confident that Fannin is gonna be good. If they move Njoku you will be golden.

I haven't listened closely to any experts about him, so I don't know too much.

From Rotowire:

"The 32nd pick in last year's draft, Legette faced heavy criticism as an overdraft and struggled to prove doubters wrong last season, overshadowed in his rookie year.......Legette boasts a rare blend of size and speed, yet his lack of agility, typical for receivers of his build, and modest college production at South Carolina raise red flags. The Panthers are giving him another shot as a starter, fielding the youngest WR group in the league....."

Oh yeah, he could easily be a bust and completely worthless. I'm still tilted we took him over Ladd. Ladd was obvious back then.

But I do think XL has a nice skillset for best ball. He has the skills to be a spike week player. I think he can be a Deebo-lite with his size and speed. He could also easily be a wasted pick. But I think the price hasn't properly adjusted for what his bet has currently become. Prior to the Thielen trade and Coker injury, we simply hoped as a second year first round pick, he could find a way to be involved with spike week potential. That was worth a pick, especially correlated, in the 13th/14th. Now, the Panthers basically have no choice but to heavily involve him. There's no guarantee it works, but he will be given the opportunity. Yet, he's still in the 13th/14th, sometime the 12th.

Also, hammer Tet. He's the real prize and absurdly underpriced. I think he's a mid round 2 value. Obviously MHJ and Nabers were better prospects, but it's funny that we drafted those guys at the 1/2 and 2/3 turn while Tet has been stuck in the 4th, as a top 10 pick, as the clear best WR on the team with a QB who could take a further step forward, and with a bad defense.

Two Flocks.

Love this team.

Doing redraft leagues with a lot of sharp ppl sucks, every time I think I can push someone bc a lot of players I like are there, there’s a huge run on all of the them and I’m stuck empty handed

Here’s how my draft ended up…

12tm .5ppr .25 tep 6pt passing td

Qb Hurts
Rb Hampton
Rb Henderson
Wr Nico
Wr Adams
Wr Golden
Te Laporta
Flex Downs
Flex Jennings
SF Tlaw

Bench RB - Ollie, Marks, Hunter
Bench wr - Burden, Legette
Bench TE - Fannin

Looks good to me. Just need those rookie RBs to deliver.

10% Gabe in the big board. We ain't dead yet.

We keeping this thread open for new season or making a new one?

I think we are keeping it going. We could ask a mod to remove 2024 from the title so it's just the fantasy football thread.

Meanwhile, I'm so close to done with slows. So close.

I have once again unlocked a new start !
