The boomers that continue to vote liberal don't care, never have. Every election a new Boogeyman comes up and Liberals convince old people to vote for them. I do kind of blame harper a little bit but not in the way people might think. I think it would have been better for us to have a housing crisis in 2007 to save us from the current madness. The 2007-08 housing crash appears to have helped the united states long term. Sometimes you need to allow healthy corrections rather then prop up inefficient things. which harper definitely did as well but the liberals took it to another level. We know socialism doesn't work but we just keep going more and more towards it. Its just so hard for politicians to do correct but unpopular things because then they can't get reelected. Something something late stage capitalism/democracy.

Not really sure what I have to do with this post. I spoken several times before about how gdp per capita growth is lower, to some degree expected given high recent immigration which increased gdp growth and lowers gdp per capita growth. I find these kind of critiques fairly empty that try to connect politics and economics. GDP growth per capita as you note captures, well, one way to slice everything. Canada absolutely faces quite a host of fairly significant economic headwinds. That's true for every party. While of course any party in power gets sort of by definition some portion of the blame, I think one has to have a more meaningful critique than just that they were in power. For instance, on most of the economic issues the conservative talking points are largely BS (like no, poilievre cutting income taxes slightly more than carney cut income taxes wasn't going to magically change gdp per capita or whatever). They have half a point that if all you care about is gdp growth per capita, than slashing immigration helps that, and having a lot of rich oil corporations helps it.
I don’t think we have to do twenty questions. If you DENY any negative effects on your grandchildren from climate change you are by definition a climate change DENIER so I don’t know why you are so angsty over this obviously appropriate label.
