PPR - $100 FAAB

Should I make a claim for Fannin or Juwan Johnson - if so, how much?

Current TE is Ferguson, who I would not drop. Curious if either of these TEs is worth rostering to potentially use ahead of him ROS.

Its weird seeing all of these big names on the wire. We get 1000 fab. But when you have names like Chase, Jefferson, Gibbs etc out there it's tempting to blow the whole wad right of the bat. The top 2 or 3 names in every league appears to be some sort of upgrade. My plan (for this week anyway) is to put in reasonable, keep 'em honest types of bids and try not to go nuts on any one player. I don't expect to get nything 😀 But if I do I think it will be fair.

Kinda anxious to see how the bids play out and just how cheap (or expensive) they are. There is definitely a learning curve here and I have no experience. There will be more next week! Once someone hits that I feel I just have to have I will be very aggressive but right now I am more interested in keeping my powder somewhat dry.

I'm in same boat. Both look like heavy use TEs on bad offenses. But I pretty much went all-in on Njoku who may get buried by Fannin although I heard one analyst say that Fannin would take more from WRs than Njoku?

Damn I had a Lamar/Dimes team in the 1st Quarter that was advancing this morning, but must have been hit with a late stat correction as it's now behind 2nd by 0.28 points.

More than a few guys went BIG. Jefferson went for 1000 (I wouldn't want zero faab left?) and Chase and Gibbs went in the 500-700 range. Bowers went for 600ish and Nico was availble in a couple of spots and went 300ish in all. I can't see the temptation to go very big but I think you have to be careful with yout fab as well. I got 2 guys for $3 each 😀 Bo Nix where all else I had was Purdy with a Q tag and Stafford (dropprd for Nix) and I somehow got Juwan Johnson. Johnson was going in the 30s and 40s in all the other leagues.

Yeah, I’m not surprised, especially for the more inexperienced players. They see those big names and think now’s my chance.

Those people may make it further than the teams holding onto FAAB, as not aggressively bidding at the beginning puts you at a relative disadvantage and is higher variance. But I think a team spending 50-100% of their budget on a couple of players after week 1 is almost surely drawing dead to win the league.

Survive and advance while preserving FAAB is the key for the first half of the season. You only have to be better than 1.
