Crying OOP with TPTK
1/3 NLHE 6 handed
Game has just opened early on a Saturday night and we're the fourth table. The game is mostly unknowns to me including V1 and V2. So far it has been very limp limp limp with betting ranges being mega nutted. Everyone has about 500$.
V1 - White guy, somewhat weak tight/scared money. 30's. Looks like he doesn't know the game and just errs on the side of folding when he's not sure what to do. CO.
V2 - Blue collar looking white guy. Doesn't know what a super-post is. Doesn't know what a straddle is. The few times he's bet out he's had the nut flush or better. Only took a flopped FH earlier for two small streets IP and won a pot like 50 bucks betting 10$ or so on turn and river. BTN.
---
UTG folds, H sees A♠ K♠ and opens 15, V1 calls 15 CO, V2 to 35 from BTN, SB+BB fold, we think and call (??), V1 calls. 3-ways OOP.
Flop 105 - J♠ T♣ 2♦
H checks, V1 checks, V2 bets 25, ....H calls?, V1 calls. Still 3-ways.
Turn 180 (440 back) - 9♥
Checks through
River 180 (440 back) - K♣
H checks, V1 checks, V2 bets 40...

I limp in but that's my style.
I also just call the 3bet as I'm assuming that is super nutted from this player type and hope to reel in other Villain who hopefully we have some IO against.
Getting 5:1 and possibly having it padded 6:1 behind us, and hitting our gutshot likely getting paid off huge from these player types having sets / two pairs / pair + draw, plus a backdoor nut flush draw, plus a couple of overs (which admittedly might have RIO), I think I'm ok with the flop call to this sizing.
Turn seems obvious.
With the Qx four liner getting there and so many two pears and it still being 3ways, I think I just check/fold. Yeah, we're getting an insane price, but what are we beating, even from someone who is clueless? We also still have the other guy who could sigh check/overcall with two pear.

yaaa I figured river was a fold but I hate folding for this price
I really hate folding the river. It's almost worth $40 to see what he has -- never show, of course.
I probably 4bet/fold pre to some ridiculous amount like $75.
I know a young, good and studied 2-5 player who says things like "You have to just go with AKs preflop, because you are doing okay vs. KK"
Vs. described V I probably play it the same until the river, although folding preflop is tempting I'm not sure I can do it for the size.
Then I'd be tempted to fold and show on the river, but w/e it's only 40 and would probably not show if I called.
Seems like it's AA a disproportionate amount from a villain like you described with the small 3 bet so I like how you played it preflop. You can probably fold the river. Seems almost impossible for you to be winning, maybe a chop.
Whats a super post!?
Grunch:
PRE - I'd probably 4B with AKs, and just flat with AKo, but flatting the 3B is okay, if we're sure we have a skill edge, even when OOP.
The problem with flatting is exactly what happened - you brought the other V along.
FLOP - Yeah, call. See a turn.
I don't know what he's repping here. JJ? TT? Is he 3B'ing pre with JT, or 22? Maybe he shows up with QQ+ some of the time. So calling is probably better than raising.
Plus, we don't know what V1 is doing. He's still uncapped when he checks in flow.
TURN - Yeah, check. Probably folding if he bets again.
RIVER - There's a one-liner to a Q on board. I'm struggling to find a hand that V could be betting that we beat, unless he's 3B'ing pre with 88 or worse. I think it's fine to release here.
Folding river, our best case scenario is a chop and it seems unlikely he would bet with that.
Result:
Spoiler
I call (I'm calling rivers too wide), V1 fold AQ face up not realizing he has the nuts, V2 has TT.
Glad I wasn't the only one wondering this.
Seems OK. I might 4bet sometimes to get it heads up but calling and going multiway for such a cheap price seems fine.
Flop, turn and initial river check seem OK. I might station for that price, it's probably bad though. LOL at the result.
4bet pre
Not really sure why everyone is leaning 4bet preflop when (a) V2 has shown nothing but nuttish when putting in money, (b) we're facing a 3bet at LLSNL, and (c) blowing moron V1 out of the hand seems incredibly counter-productive.

I like to 4Bet AK in position, but OOP I likely play it just like you did. I wish I had statistics on how often you hit the board on the river and your hand is no good. But you shouldnβt expect to be ahead on this runout.
You guys are pretty lucky to have clueless players in the game. I never see that. When someone shows up in my game not knowing how to play, itβs always a hustle.
