What do we have on villain?
Pre: I like call here (though sure some will say 3b), assuming blinds are not aggro 3 betters.
Flop: call is good. though betting is fine too here, especially with the gutshot
Turn: I think I prefer raise here
River: I was thinking min-click as an option, but at that point we would have over half our stack in and can't fold, so I think I call. Possible we might lose some value from something like AQ, but he has higher flushes and boats in his range too here, and he seems completely undaunted with flush draw comong in.
Fold pre mostly, but 3 bet is ok. Call is terrible. Play 3 bet or fold vs a big open (3x or larger) unless in the big blind or on button vs EP
Board pairs make your flush less safe.. pre could’ve been fold or 3-bet, and river call is fine but risky.
Put pot size on every street please.
Fold pre or 3bet.
Flop & turn fine.
I call river without reads, not loving it though. Most villains bet less with trips or flush < nut flush.
Grunch:
PRE - fine.
FLOP - fine.
TURN - Hmmmm....I think I'd probably raise.
It's hard for V to have a better flush when the Kd and Qd are on board. I might min-click it, and fold if he 3B's.
If you're not going to raise turn, you have to think about how you're going to play the river on various cards, and whether he checks or bets.
RIVER - He potted it? Do we know anything about this V?
It would help to know if V is the type to pot it with AA or AK, or a better flush, a worse flush, ace-high, JJ, etc.
When he bets 15 into 20 on the turn, he should have at least TP with a decent kicker, like KJ at worst. I'd think a lot of his KX combos would slow down and check the river, because it looks like we have at least KX, or QX, or a flush, and possibly a boat.
I dunno. I don't think we're good here very often, but we also won't get here this way with very many better hands than the one we have. I probably call, unless we know enough about to V to know he's rarely going to be bluffing or betting worse for value with a PSB.
No offense, but I really hate call down poker. On the river with a bluff catcher maybe, but on the early streets, you have to put villain to a decision. Without raising, you can’t put villain on a hand.
I would be happy raising pre, on the flop, and definitely on the turn. As played, I guess you have a bluff catcher on the river.
With a raise somewhere, good things can happen - now villain checks to the raiser, you can take a FreeCard or villain re-raises and you get away from the draw. You have to poke the bear and find out how much he wants to fight.
