If cars were strictly designed to get you from point to point then there likely wouldn't be such a thing as car culture.
Guns are the same way. Sure the original intents are killing and transportation but a person can like guns and not be concerned about killing things the same as a person can like cars and not be too concerned about how effectively they function as transportation devices. Their current uses transcend their original intents. I myself have zero guns and two cars. People have asked me why I don't sell my 2nd car and I tell them to **** off.

Actually a normalization of killing in at least a portion of societal culture is *indispensable* to keep having the most powerful armed forces in the world, so even if it was only for that, it would be literally *suicidal* for america to work to disrupt that *exceptionally useful* subculture that is needed for a crucial societal interest.
But ofc personnel problems for the armed forces never even vaguely touch your (very powerful) brain when you discuss this, i wonder why.

But Lol yes low education rurals are super important to the military. I actually worked on DoD grants all through undergrad and part of grad school. And even now a start up I'm on the board of is based on a few solid state battery devices patented by a friend who;s research was initially DoD funded.
